Symbal 40 MG Tablet is an antidepressant. This medication is prescribed to treat depression and other mood disorders such as anxiety. It is also used to treat diabetic neuropathic pain (nerve damage due to diabetes) and fibromyalgia (widespread pain in the body).

Symbal 40 MG Tablet works by increasing the level of chemical transmitters (serotonin and norepinephrine) in the brain that help maintain mental balance and stop the movement of pain signals in the brain.

Symbal 40 MG Tablet can show side effects like nausea, dry mouth, heartburn, etc. Consult your doctor if side effects are bothering you or getting persistent. Avoid driving vehicles or operating machines as this medicine can make you feel drowsy or dizzy.

Symbal 40MG Tablet is used to treat the symptoms of generalized anxiety disorder like feeling restlessness, difficulty in concentrating and irregular heartbeat.
Diabetic peripheral neuropathy
Diabetic neuropathy is a type of nerve damage that can occur if you have diabetes. The condition most often affects the legs and feet. Symbal 40 MG Tablet is used to relieve the pain associated with this condition.
Chronic musculoskeletal pain

When not to use?

Allergy
Symbal 40MG Tablet is not recommended if you are allergic to it. Seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms such as skin rash, itching/swelling (especially of your face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, breathing difficulty, etc.
Monoamine oxidase inhibitors
MAOIs (monoamine oxidase inhibitors) are medications used to treat depression and other mental health conditions. Do not take Symbal 40 MG Tablet with MAOIs or within two weeks after discontinuing MAOIs, as it can lead to life-threatening complications.
Narrow angle glaucoma
Narrow-angle glaucoma is a condition in which pressure inside your eyes increases. It happens due to fluid build-up caused by blocked drainage canals. Symbal 40MG Tablet is not recommended if you have narrow-angle glaucoma as it may increase the risk of mydriasis (a condition in which the pupil of the eye gets widened due to increased eye pressure).

Pregnancy
Symbal 40 MG Tablet is not recommended for use in pregnancy as this medicine may affect your developing foetus. Discuss all the risks and benefits with your doctor before taking this medicine.
Breast-feeding

General warnings
Suicidal thoughts

Orthostatic hypotension and fall

Abnormal bleeding
