Description

Soliten 5 Tablet is used for the treatment of an overactive bladder, a condition characterized by symptoms such as a frequent and sudden urge to urinate, inability to control urination and leaking of urine. This medicine improves the ability to control urination by relaxing the muscles in the urinary bladder thus relieving you of all the urinary complaints.

Soliten 5 Tablet shows side effects like dry mouth, constipation, nausea, vomiting and indigestion. Most of these side effects are not significant enough and resolve with time. If any of these side effects persist or worsen, consult your doctor at the earliest. Avoid driving or operating machines as this medicine is known to cause dizziness or blurry vision in some people.

Soliten 5 Tablet can be taken with or without food. Your doctor will decide the dose based on your clinical condition. Do not stop taking this medicine if you do not notice an improvement in your symptoms as it may take some time for your bladder to adapt and your symptoms to improve. Complete the entire course of treatment to achieve the best results of this medicine. This medicine is not recommended for use in children and adolescents less than 18 years of age.

When not to use?

Allergy
Avoid Soliten 5 Tablet if you have a known allergy to this medicine. Seek medical attention if you come across any symptoms such as skin rash, hives (painful itchy eruptions that sting), swelling (face, lips, tongue, etc.), breathing difficulty, etc.
Severe liver impairment
Soliten 5 Tablet is absorbed and broken down in the liver. Using this medicine when you have a pre-existing liver problem may lead to worsening of the liver condition and other undesirable effects. Hence, Soliten 5 Tablet is not recommended for use if you already have liver problems.
Urinary retention
Urinary retention is a condition where the patient is unable to empty the bladder. Soliten 5 Tablet may increase the risk of urinary retention, hence, it is not recommended to use in this condition.
Narrow angle glaucoma
Narrow-angle glaucoma is a condition in which the pressure inside your eyes increases. This happens when the fluids inside your eye do not drain properly because the spaces have become narrow. Soliten 5 Tablet may suppress the fluid drainage from the eye and may worsen your condition.
Gastric retention
Gastric retention occurs due to the compression or narrowing of the duodenum (a part of the small intestine that connects to the stomach and carries food from the stomach to the intestine). Soliten 5 Tablet may increase the risk of narrowing of the duodenum and may worsen the condition. Hence, Soliten 5 Tablet is not recommended to use in conditions such as Gastroparesis (a condition that affects the movement of muscles in the stomach) that may lead to gastric retention.

Pregnancy
Soliten 5 Tablet is not recommended for use in pregnancy as there is no adequate data to prove its efficacy in humans during pregnancy.
Breast-feeding
Long-term use of Soliten 5 Tablet might reduce milk production. It is not known whether Soliten 5 Tablet is passed into breastmilk. Since it remains in the body for a long time, there are chances that it may be passed on to your infant. As there is not adequate data to prove its safety and efficacy in humans while breastfeeding, it is best to consult your doctor before taking this medicine.
General warnings
Use in children
Soliten 5 Tablet is not recommended for use in children less than 18 years of age since the safety and efficacy of use are not clinically established.
Driving or operating a machine
Use of Soliten 5 Tablet may cause symptoms such as dizziness, drowsiness, blurred vision, etc. in some people. Do not perform any activities such as driving or operating machines if you experience any of these symptoms during treatment with Soliten 5 Tablet.
Liver impariment
Use Soliten 5 Tablet with caution if you have reduced liver function. Generally, this medicine is not given in a dose exceeding 5 mg in cases of moderate liver damage. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.
Kidney impariment
Use Soliten 5 Tablet with caution if you have reduced kidney function. In case of severe kidney damage, a dose exceeding 5 mg is not recommended. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

Dosage

Missed Dose
If you have forgotten to take Soliten 5 Tablet, take the missed dose of as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed one.
Overdose
Do not take excess dose than prescribed by your doctor. Seek emergency medical treatment or contact your doctor in case you suspect Soliten 5 Tablet overdose.

Interactions

General Instructions
Take Soliten 5 Tablet orally with or without food. Do not crush, break or chew the tablet. Do not take a higher dose than advised.
