Description

Sevista 30 mg Tablet is a nonsteroidal agent which is used as an oral contraceptive medicine. It may also be used to treat uterine bleeding, endometriosis, breast cancer, ovarian cancer, prostate cancer, etc. This medicine is not recommended for use in pregnant women. It is advised that you discuss all the risks and benefits with your doctor before taking this medicine.

This medicine is used for the prevention of unwanted pregnancies.

This medicine is used to prevent and treat breast cancer.
Abnormal uterine bleeding
This medicine is used to prevent and treat abnormal uterine bleeding in women around menopausal age.

When not to use?

Allergy
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known allergy to ormeloxifene or any other inactive ingredients present along with it.
Pregnancy
This medicine is not recommended for use in pregnant women due to the potential for serious adverse effects on the unborn baby.
Liver impairment
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with liver diseases or with a recent history of jaundice due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient’s condition.
Polycystic Ovary Syndrome
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient’s condition.

Warnings for special population
Pregnancy
This medicine is not recommended for use in pregnant women due to the potential for serious adverse effects on the unborn baby. It should only be used in life-threatening conditions where the potential benefits outweigh the risks.
Breast-feeding
This medicine is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless necessary. The risks and benefits should be discussed with the doctor before taking this medicine.
General warnings
Suppression of menstruation
This medicine may cause irregular periods in some women. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor before taking this medicine.
Kidney disease
This medicine should be used with caution in patients with kidney diseases due to the increased risk of adverse effects. Regular monitoring of the kidney function tests is necessary while taking this medicine. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required in some cases based on the clinical condition.

Dosage

Missed Dose
Contraception:
Take a pill as soon as possible after it is missed
If the medicine is missed by 1 or 2 days but lesser than 7 days, the normal schedule should be continued and the patient needs to use a backup method (e.g. condoms) till the next period starts
If the medicine is missed by more than 7 days, the patient needs to start taking it all over again like a new user that is twice a week for 3 months and then once a week.

Breast Cancer and Abnormal uterine bleeding:
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost the time for your next scheduled dose. Do not double the medicine to make up for the missed dose.
Overdose
Seek emergency medical treatment or contact the doctor in case of an overdose.

Interactions

General Instructions
This medicine should be taken exactly as instructed by the doctor. It can be taken with or without food. The quantity consumed should not be greater or lesser than the prescribed one. Ensure that the treatment course is completed. Report any adverse effects to the doctor immediately.
