Roliten 1mg Tablet (Tolterodine 1mg)

INTRODUCTION

ROLITEN 1MG contain Tolterodine tartrate which belongs to a group of medicine called antimuscarinics. It is used for the treatment of the symptoms of overactive bladder syndrome. Overactive bladder syndrome is a disease with bladder function that causes the sudden need to urinate. It happens mostly due to ageing, an enlarged prostate and diabetes. The urge to urinate may be difficult to control and leads to the involuntary loss of urine (incontinence). It works by relaxing muscles of the urinary bladder and prevents frequent, urgent or uncontrolled urination.

ROLITEN 1MG is not recommended for use in children. Before taking this medicine tell your doctor if you have ever had kidney disease, heart disease, liver problems. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before taking this medicine. The most common side effects of this medicine are dry mouth, constipation, headache, dizziness, sleepiness, blurred vision, diarrhoea.

HOW ROLITEN 1MG WORKS

ROLITEN 1MG works by relaxing muscles of the urinary bladder and prevents frequent, urgent, or uncontrolled urination.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Always take ROLITEN 1MG exactly as your doctor has told you. This medicine can be taken before, after or during a meal and try to take at the same time each day. It should be swallowed whole with water. Do not crush or chew the medicine.

SIDE EFFECTS OF ROLITEN 1MG

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS

Headache:

Apply hot or cold-water bag on your head. Take rest in a quiet and dark room. Drink tea or coffee.

Vomiting:

Try taking this medicine with, or just after, a meal or snack and stick to simple meals and do not eat rich or spicy food.

Diarrhoea:

Drink lot of fluid such as water or squash, to avoid dehydration. Do not take any other medicines without talking to a doctor.

Dizziness:

Get up and move around to feel awake, take small naps to edge off the sleepiness. Give your eyes a break to avoid fatigue and eat a healthy food to boost energy.

Constipation: 

Take fibre rich foods such as fresh fruit, vegetables and cereals, and drink plenty of water. Exercise more regularly.

Sleepiness:

Get up and move around to feel awake. Take a nap to take the edge off the sleepiness. Give your eyes a break to avoid weakness.

Abdominal pain:

Try to rest and relax. You can eat and drink slowly or have smaller and frequent meals. Applying heat pad or covered hot water bottle on your stomach may help. If still pain persists, speak to your doctor.

INTERACTIONS

Talk to your doctor if you are taking,

• Antibiotics such as erythromycin, clarithromycin
• Antifungal medicines such as ketoconazole, itraconazole (used to treat fungal infections)
• Medicines used for the treatment of HIV
• Medicines such as metoclopramide, domperidone, cisapride
• Medicines such as amiodarone, sotalol, quinidine, procainamide (used to treat irregular heartbeat)
