Revelol XL 25 Tablet 10’s belongs to a group of medicines called as beta-blockers used alone or together with other medicines to treat high blood pressure (hypertension), heart related chest pain (angina) and protect heart after heart attack (myocardial infarction). Besides this, it also help in relieving symptoms of migraine related headache and tremors (fits). High blood pressure adds to the workload of the heart and arteries.
Hypertension or high blood pressure is a long-term force of the blood against the arteries that may lead to various types of heart diseases. If it continues for a long time, it can damage the blood vessels (arteries) of the brain, heart, and kidneys, resulting in a stroke, heart failure, or kidney failure. Drug-Drug Interaction: Revelol XL 25 Tablet 10’s may interact with other blood pressure lowering pills or beta-blockers (acebutolol, atenolol, bisoprolol, carteolol, esmolol, metoprolol, nadolol, nebivolol or sotalol) causing a dangerous drop in the heart rate. Besides this, Revelol XL 25 Tablet 10’s should not be used with other blood pressure related medicines (lisinopril, enalapril, diltiazem, prazosin, terazosin, doxazosin), asthma medications (theophylline, aminophylline), pain killers, antifungals (terbinafine), anticancer (aldesleukin), blood thinner (dipyridamole), antibiotics (rifampicin), antivirals (ritonavir), antihistamines used to treat hay fever (diphenhydramine), medicines used to treat irregular heartbeat (amiodarone, propafenone, quinidine, disopyramide, tocainide, procainamide, ajmaline, flecainide, digitalis glycosides such as digoxin, lidocaine). If you are using these medicines tell your doctor before taking Revelol XL 25 Tablet 10’s.
Drug-Food Interaction: Revelol XL 25 Tablet 10’s severely interact with grapefruit and protein enriched foods. Using Revelol XL 25 Tablet 10’s together with ayurvedic, homeopathy, unani, herbal supplements or any other OTC items may decrease the effects of Revelol XL 25 Tablet 10’s. Hence, it is better to maintain at least 2 hours gap between the administration of Revelol XL 25 Tablet 10’s and these products.
Drug-Disease Interaction: Revelol XL 25 Tablet 10’s should not be given to the people with diabetes, thyroid disease, asthma, cardiogenic shock (when the heart fails to pump required blood to the body), heart valve problem (stenosis), low blood pressure (hypotension), coronary heart disease, liver disease or heart failure.
