Pause-MF (250/500 mg) Tablet is a combination of Mefenamic acid and Tranexamic acid. It is used to treat pain and heavy bleeding during menstruation. It prevents the breakdown of blood clots, which helps to reduce heavy menstrual flow. It also blocks the production of specific chemical substances responsible for causing pain.
Pause-MF (250/500 mg) Tablet shows side effects like nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, headache, heartburn (burning pain in your chest), diarrhoea, dizziness, muscle pain, and anaemia (low number of blood cells).
Pause-MF (250/500 mg) Tablet can be taken with or without food. It is recommended that you take it after food to avoid an upset stomach. It must be consumed as a whole tablet without crushing or breaking it. Inform your doctor if you observe any abnormalities in your menstrual cycle. Pause-MF (250/500 mg) Tablet is effective when taken on the first day of your menstruation. Do not increase your dose or take it more frequently, or take it for a longer time than prescribed. Uses of Pause-MF (250/500 mg) Tablet
What is it prescribed for?
Heavy menstrual bleeding
An abnormally heavy and/or prolonged period is called menorrhagia. This happens if your hormone levels are imbalanced, your ovaries (part of the female reproductive organ responsible for producing eggs) stop functioning normally or due to other medical conditions. Pause-MF (250/500 mg) Tablet helps in the clotting of the lining of the uterus (womb) during menstruation, thereby reducing excessive bleeding.
Menstrual pain
Menstrual pain or a painful period is a throbbing, aching cramp or pain that you get in your lower belly just before and during your menstruation. You may experience this pain for 1-2 days each month. Pause-MF (250/500 mg) Tablet is used to provide relief from such aching pain in your belly during menstruation.
When not to use?
Allergy
Avoid taking Pause-MF (250/500 mg) Tablet if you are allergic to it. Seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms such as skin rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, breathing difficulty, etc.

Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery (CABG)
Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery (CABG) is a surgical technique that is used to restore normal blood flow to your heart. Subarachnoid haemorrhage
Subarachnoid haemorrhage is bleeding between your brain and the tissue that covers the brain. You should not take Pause-MF (250/500 mg) Tablet in such conditions as it prevents the breakdown of blood clots and can cause obstruction to the blood flow and blood thickening. Using this medicine in cases of subarachnoid haemorrhage is not advisable, as it can worsen your condition and lead to cerebral oedema (swelling of the brain) and infarction (obstruction of the blood supply to an organ).
Obstructive blood clotting disorder
Obstructive blood clotting disorder is an abnormal formation of blood clots because of certain problems like slow blood flow through your veins, an irregularity in clot formation components, and/or damage to the blood vessel wall. Pause-MF (250/500 mg) Tabletworks by preventing the breakdown of clots. Hence, it is not recommended for use if you have any clotting disorders as this can worsen your condition.
