ONDET 4 MG INJECTION (Ondansetron 4mg)

ONDET INJECTION 4ML belongs to a group of medications called ‘ anti-emetics’ primarily used in the prevention of vomiting (being sick) and nausea (feeling sick) that usually occur after cancer chemotherapy, radiation treatment or surgery. Nausea is an uneasy feeling in which a person feels an urge to vomit while vomiting is the natural response to the body to forcefully discharge the stomach contents.

ONDET INJECTION 4ML contains ‘Ondanestron’ that works by blocking the action of a chemical in the body (serotonin) responsible for causing nausea and vomiting. As a result, ONDET INJECTION 4ML prevents the sensation of nausea and vomiting caused due to conditions like surgery, cancer chemotherapy, pregnancy or motion sickness.

ONDET INJECTION 4ML can be taken with or without a meal with a full glass of water. ONDET INJECTION 4ML is available in three forms, namely Orally disintegrating Tablets, tablets, and oral solution. The doctor will suggest the right way of taking medicine after checking the dosing form. A person taking ONDET INJECTION 4ML often experience side effects that include a feeling of warmth, constipation, headache, diarrhoea, headache, drowsiness, feeling of tiredness. Although, not every person faces the side effects of ONDET INJECTION 4ML, and even some of the unpleasant effects of ONDET INJECTION 4ML do not require medical attention.

The use of ONDET INJECTION 4ML is restricted in persons who are allergic to any of the ingredients present in this medicine. Tell your doctor if you are facing liver, kidney, or heart disorders. A pregnant woman should tell their doctor about their pregnancy as this medicine can not be used in pregnancy as it may cause a birth deformity in children. ONDET INJECTION 4ML could pass in breastfeeding milk so it should not be given to a woman who is breastfeeding her baby. ONDET INJECTION 4ML contains lactose so tell your doctor if you have an intolerance to some sugars.

Nausea, Vomiting

When serotonin level increases in the blood, it stimulates the CTZ receptor (chemoreceptor trigger zone) located in the brain responsible for controlling nausea and vomiting. ONDET INJECTION 4ML acts by inhibiting the release of this serotonin, thereby preventing nausea and vomiting.

Tablet: ONDET INJECTION 4ML can be taken with or without a meal as suggested by the doctor. The first dosage of this medicine is generally ingested before the starting of chemotherapy, radiation treatment, or surgery. Oral disintegrating tablet: Keep ONDET INJECTION 4ML beneath the tongue and allow it to dissolve in the mouth itself. Do not swallow this medicine. Injection: The nurse or doctor will inject ONDET INJECTION 4ML, so do not self administer.

Store in a cool and dry place away from sunlight

A person taking ONDET INJECTION 4ML may face some unpleasant effects include sensations of flushing, constipation, headache, confusion, dizziness, fast heartbeat, fever, headache, shortness of breath, and weakness. Not everyone faces these side effects, and some of them did not even require medical attention. However, if a person faces serious side effects then they should immediately consult with their doctor.
