Onabet Cream (Sertaconazole 2%) 30gm

Onabet Cream 15 gm contains imidazole antifungal sertaconazole nitrate, Onabet Cream 15 gm is primarily used to treat fungal infections of the skin such as athlete’s foot (Tinea pedis), jock itch, ringworm, and other fungal skin infections. Besides this, Onabet Cream 15 gm also used to treat a skin condition known as pityriasis (flaking or scaling of the skin).

Onabet Cream 15 gm works by destroying the fungus that causes the infection. Onabet Cream 15 gm destroys the fungi by allowing the holes to open in the cell membrane and the components to leak out. This kills the fungus and prevents the infection.

Onabet Cream 15 gm should be used for skin only and accidentally if it gets into your eye, mouth or nose rinse with water. Onabet Cream 15 gm should be applied to the affected area with a piece of clean cotton wool or gauze swab. Onabet Cream 15 gm should not be applied more than the recommended dose, to avoid unpleasant side effects. Some common side effects of Onabet Cream 15 gm are burning, itching, redness, stinging and dryness on your skin in the place where Onabet Cream 15 gm ointment is applied. Sensitive, allergic reaction (skin hypersensitivity reactions) like rashes, itching and swelling may occur in rare cases. Please consult your doctor if an allergic reaction becomes severe.

Tell your doctor if you are known to allergic to Onabet Cream 15 gm or any other medicines. It is not known whether Onabet Cream 15 gm harm baby or passes into breast milk in pregnancy and breastfeeding state. It is better to contact a doctor before using Onabet Cream 15 gm during pregnancy and while breastfeeding. If nursing mothers are applying Onabet Cream 15 gm to their breast or nipple, they should wash the affected area thoroughly before nursing their baby.

Fungal infections

Onabet Cream 15 gm is widely used to treat various fungal infections of the skin due to specific fungi (e.g. Trichophyton species) and certain yeasts (e.g. Candida species) by destroying its cell membrane.

Onabet Cream 15 gm should be applied thinly and evenly to the affected area 2 – 3 times daily and rubbed in gently with a cotton swab or gauze pad. If the feet are infected, they should be thoroughly washed and dried, especially between the toes, before applying the cream. Strictly do not use Onabet Cream 15 gm for the eye (ophthalmic), oral, or intravaginal use.

Allergic reaction (cutaneous hypersensitivity reactions) such as rashes, itching and swelling may occur in rare cases which is serious and can lead to a life-threatening condition.
