Moxigram 0.5% Eye Drops is an antibiotic. It is used to treat bacterial conjunctivitis, an eye infection caused by bacteria. It works by blocking the action of an enzyme required for bacterial multiplication. This prevents further growth and kills the infection-causing bacteria.

Moxigram 0.5% Eye Drops may cause side effects such as mild itching and irritation, eye discomfort and dry eyes. These symptoms usually subside on their own, however, consult your doctor if these symptoms remain for a long time or if they become severe.

Moxigram 0.5% Eye Drops should be instilled in your eyes as prescribed by your doctor. You will start to feel better in a few days. However, continue taking the medicine for the prescribed duration. Skipping doses or not completing the full course of therapy may result in decreased effectiveness of the medicine or increased risk of re-infection that would be difficult to treat in the future. This medicine is effective only for the treatment of infections caused by bacteria and not viruses.

Moxigram 0.5% Eye Drops is not recommended if you are allergic to it. This medicine may be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding upon your doctor’s recommendation.

This infection can easily spread by direct or indirect contact with an infected person. Moxigram 0.5% Eye Drops is used in the treatment of bacterial conjunctivitis.

When not to use?

Allergy

Driving or operating machines
Moxigram 0.5% Eye Drops may cause short-term blurring of vision, burning sensation, or discomfort in the eyes after application. If you experience such symptoms, avoid driving or operating machines.
Contact lens
Avoid wearing contact lenses if you have an eye infection.
Use in children
Moxigram 0.5% Eye Drops is not recommended for use in children below 1 years unless directed by your doctor.

Dosage

Missed Dose
Try not to skip a dose of Moxigram 0.5% Eye Drops. Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed one. Do not double the dose to compensate for a missed one.
Overdose
As Moxigram 0.5% Eye Drops is intended for external use, the likelihood of side effects due to an overdose is low. However, do not administer more than the prescribed dose.

General Instructions

Moxigram 0.5% Eye Drops is for external use only. Administer it as directed by your doctor.

Avoid touching the tip of the dropper against your eye or other surface. Close the cover of the bottle after administration to keep it clean and free from contamination. Do not wipe or rinse the dropper tip.

Use Moxigram 0.5% Eye Drops at around the same time daily for the ease of remembering. Ensure that you complete the course of the treatment to prevent re-infection.

Do not touch your eyes with unwashed hands. Avoid sharing items like eyeglasses, contact lenses, pillows, towels, clothes, eye or face makeup when you are infected.
