Description
Mox Kid DT 250 mg Tablet is an antibiotic. It is used orally to treat different types of bacterial infections of the throat, lungs, ears, nose, urinary tract, and skin. Mox Kid DT 250 mg Tablet is also used with other medications to stop the growth of Helicobacter pylori bacteria that cause stomach ulcer(s). It is not effective against infections caused by viruses or fungus.
Mox Kid DT 250 mg Tablet causes side effects like diarrhoea, stomach pain, headache, weakness, nausea, and vomiting. Consult your doctor if any of these side effects persist or worsen. Avoid taking this medicine if you have a known allergy to it and discontinue if any allergic reactions (skin rash, hives (itchy, painful eruptions that sting), swelling of face, lips, etc.) are experienced. Inform your doctor if you are allergic to penicillin.
Mox Kid DT 250 mg Tablet can be taken with or without food, and at the same time every day to ensure its better efficacy. Take the tablet as a whole without crushing or breaking it. Antibiotic treatment must be completed as directed by your doctor. Do not stop taking on your own even if you feel better.
Mox Kid DT 250 mg Tablet should be used cautiously by individuals with kidney, liver and heart problems. Mox Kid DT 250 mg Tablet can make birth control pills less effective. You may be asked to take a different birth control method to prevent unintended pregnancy.
Mox Kid DT 250 mg Tablet may interact with other medicines. Inform your doctor if you take any medicines apart from this tablet. Also, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or are breastfeeding before taking this medicine.

Acute otitis media
Acute Otitis media (AOM), is an infection of the middle ear (the area behind the eardrum), common in infants and young children. Mox Kid DT 250 mg Tablet is used to treat acute otitis media caused by bacteria.
Sinusitis
Sinusitis is the swelling of membranes that line your nose and surrounding sinuses. It is often caused by bacteria and sometimes, viruses and fungi. You may experience a stuffed nose and pain or pressure behind your eyes, nose, cheeks, or forehead. Mox Kid DT 250 mg Tablet is used to treat bacterial sinusitis.
Lung infections
Mox Kid DT 250 mg Tablet is used to treat the following lung infections:
1. Pneumonia:- It is an infection of the air sacs in your lungs (either single or both lungs). It can be bacterial and viral. Mox Kid DT 250 mg Tablet is used to treat pneumonia caused by bacteria.
2. Bronchitis:- It is the swelling and irritation of bronchial tubes that regulates air passage in your lungs. Mox Kid DT 250 mg Tablet is used to treat bronchitis caused by bacteria.
Skin and soft tissue infections
Skin and soft tissue infections occur when the bacteria invade your skin and its supporting structures. Mox Kid DT 250 mg Tablet is used to treat all skin infections including abscess caused by bacteria.
Cystitis
Cystitis is the swelling of your urinary bladder usually caused by a bacterial infection. Mox Kid DT 250 mg Tablet is used to treat cystitis caused by E.coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterococci, and Klebsiella species.
Gonorrhoea
Gonorrhoea is a sexually transmitted infection (STI) caused by Neisseria gonorrhoea bacteria that infects both men and women. It spreads during vaginal, oral or anal sex without protection. Mox Kid DT 250 mg Tablet is used to treat gonococcal infection.

Bacterial endocarditis is an infection in the inner lining of your heart caused by bacteria. It occurs when bacteria from another part of your body travel through the blood and attach to damaged areas of your heart. Mox Kid DT 250 mg Tablet is used to treat bacterial endocarditis.
Pharyngitis/Tonsilitis
Pharyngitis and tonsillitis are infections that cause swelling and soreness in the throat and tonsils. If this infection affects both the throat and the tonsils, then it would be called pharyngotonsillitis. Mox Kid DT 250 mg Tablet is used to treat pharyngitis, tonsillitis, and/or pharyngotonsillitis (when this infection affects both, the throat and the tonsils).
Typhoid fever
Typhoid fever is a bacterial infection caused by Salmonella typhi. This bacteria is spread through contaminated food or water by a human carrier. Mox Kid DT 250 mg Tablet is used to treat typhoid fever.
Pyelonephritis
Pyelonephritis is the swelling of your kidneys due to bacterial infection. This infection starts in your urethra or bladder and spreads to your kidneys. Mox Kid DT 250 mg Tablet is used to treat Pyelonephritis.

Allergy

Allergic reaction

Antibiotic resistance

If you still feel unwell after completing your antibiotic course, make an appointment to consult your doctor.
Diarrhoea
Mox Kid DT 250 mg Tablet can cause diarrhoea because it may also kill the helpful bacteria in your stomach or intestine. Get emergency medical help if you experience severe diarrhoea that is watery or bloody. Call your pharmacist/doctor before taking anti-diarrhoeal medication.
Driving or operating machinery
Mox Kid DT 250 mg Tablet may cause dizziness, confusion, or fits in some people. Do not drive vehicles or operate machines after taking this medicine.
Dosage
Missed Dose
If you forget to take a Mox Kid DT 250 mg Tablet dose, make sure that you remember to take your next dose on time. Do not take two doses together to make up for a forgotten dose.
Overdose
Never take Mox Kid DT 250 mg Tablet more than the prescribed dose. If you suspect that you might have taken an overdose of this medicine, go to the emergency department of your local hospital.
General Instructions
Take Mox Kid DT 250 mg Tablet orally with or without food.
Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Stopping it early may make the infection come back and harder to treat.
Discontinue Mox Kid DT 250 mg Tablet and inform your doctor immediately if you get a rash, itchy skin, swelling of the face and mouth, or have difficulty in breathing.
Do not give your medicine to other people even if their condition appears to be the same as yours.
Do not crush, break or chew the tablet in your mouth.
