Description

Momates S Ointment is a combination medicine which may be used for the treatment of steroid responsive dermatoses including those associated with eczema or psoriasis. This medicine is not recommended for use if you are known allergic to it.

When not to use?

Allergy
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known allergy to mometasone, salicylic acid, other corticosteroids, or any other inactive ingredients present in the formulation.

Warnings

Pregnancy
This medicine is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless absolutely necessary. All the risks and benefits should be discussed with the doctor before using this medicine.
Breast-feeding
This medicine is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless absolutely necessary. All the risks and benefits should be discussed with the doctor before using this medicine. If the medicine is used, care should be taken such that the infant does not come into contact with the medicine.
General warnings
Salicylism
Prolonged use of this medicine may lead to a toxic condition marked by ringing in the ears, nausea, and vomiting (salicylism) in some patients. Appropriate corrective measures or replacement with a suitable alternative may be necessary based on the clinical condition.
External use only
This medicine is only recommended for external use. Avoid contact with the mouth, eyes, mucous membranes, cuts, grazes, or wounds.
Recurrence of infections
Use of this medicine can cause a relapse of fungal or bacterial infections in patients who have recently recovered from it. It is advised to conduct suitable diagnostic tests before starting the treatment with this medicine. Special precaution is advised while administering this medicine in a patient who has recently recovered from tuberculosis.
Growth disorders in children
This medicine should be used with caution in pediatric patients as the risk of growth abnormalities, brittle bones, and other developmental problems are significantly high.
Chronic use
High doses of this medicine should not be used for more than two weeks due to the increased risk of severe adverse effects. If required, low doses can be used for long-term only under the supervision of your doctor.
Other medicines
This medicine may interact with many other medicines and may cause severe adverse effects. Hence, it is advised that you inform the doctor about all your current medicines including any herbs and supplements before beginning treatment with this medicine.

Dosage

Missed Dose
Apply the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed one.
Overdose
Seek emergency medical treatment or contact the doctor in case of an overdose.

General Instructions

This medicine is meant for external use only. If the medicine is swallowed, seek immediate medical help. Follow all dosing instructions mentioned on the label or the package insert. Do not use this medicine for durations shorter or longer than recommended by your doctor.
