Uses of Modlip AM Tablet

What is it prescribed for?
Coexisting essential hypertension and hyperlipidemia
This medicine is used in the treatment of patients with both high blood pressure and hyperlipidemia which may be caused by genetic or environmental factors.
Angina pectoris
This medicine is used in the treatment of angina pectoris, a type of chest pain or discomfort caused due to coronary artery diseases.
Prevention of cardiovascular diseases
This medicine is used to prevent a stroke or a heart attack in patients with risk factors such as diabetes, coronary artery diseases, hypertension, family history, smoking, etc.

When not to use?

Liver disease
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with active liver diseases since it may worsen the patient’s condition.
Allergy
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known allergy to atorvastatin, S-amlodipine, or any other calcium-channel blockers.

Pregnancy

Altered blood sugar levels

Muscle degradation and Rhabdomyolysis
This medicine may cause muscle breakdown and rhabdomyolysis in some patients, a condition which can be fatal. This may cause symptoms such as severe tiredness and weakness. This risk is especially higher in the elderly population and in patients with kidney diseases, hypothyroidism, and active muscle disorders. Report any unusual symptoms to the doctor immediately. Replacement with a suitable alternative may be necessary based on the clinical condition of the patient.
Heavy alcohol consumption
This medicine may cause liver and kidney injuries in patients consuming alcohol very frequently and in large quantities. Hence, consumption of alcohol should be avoided during treatment with this medicine.
Stroke
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients recovering from a stroke since it may worsen the patient’s condition.
Aortic stenosis
This medicine should be used with extreme caution in patients suffering from aortic stenosis due to the increased risk of a very low blood pressure. Coronary artery diseases
This medicine should be used with extreme caution in patients suffering from coronary artery diseases since it may worsen the patient’s condition. Pediatric use
This medicine is not recommended for use in children since the safety and efficacy of use are not clinically established.
Cognitive impairment

Driving and operating machines

Dosage

Missed Dose
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed one.
