Description

Melacare Forte Cream is a combination medicine which may be used for the short-term, intermittent treatment of moderate-to-severe melasma (dark, discolored patches, age spots, freckles) of the face. This medicine is not recommended for use in patients less than 12 years of age.

This medicine is used to treat dark, discolored patches of skin on the face that are usually caused due to sun exposure or hormonal changes.

When not to use?

Allergy
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known allergy to tretinoin, isotretinoin, hydroquinone, mometasone, or any other inactive ingredients present along with the formulation.
Sunburn
This medicine should not be applied to areas of skin affected by sunburns.

Warnings

Pregnancy
This medicine is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless absolutely necessary. All the risks and benefits should be discussed with the doctor before using this medicine.
Breast-feeding
This medicine is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless absolutely necessary. All the risks and benefits should be discussed with the doctor before using this medicine. If the medicine is used, care should be taken such that the infant does not come into contact with the medicine.

External use
This medicine is recommended for use only on the skin. Do not apply this cream in your eyes, lips, mouth, vagina, or the corners of your nose.
Use in children

It is advised to take a sensitivity test to rule out the possibility of an allergic reaction before starting the regular use of this medicine.
Sun exposure

Dosage

Missed Dose
Apply the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not apply a double dose to make up for the missed dose.
Overdose
An overdose of this medicine is not likely to cause severe symptoms. However, ingestion of this medicine may cause harm and immediate medical intervention may be required.

General Instructions

Apply a thin layer of the cream to the affected area as instructed by the doctor. Follow all the usage instructions mentioned on the label or the package insert. Do not apply in larger or smaller quantities than recommended. Do not cover the application area with bandages or other coverings unless specifically instructed by the doctor.
