Megabrom Eye Drop (Bromfenac 0.09%)

Description

Megabrom Eye Drops is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug used for the treatment of postoperative inflammation and pain in patients who have undergone a cataract extraction. This medicine is not recommended for use in patients below 18 years of age.

What is it prescribed for?
Postoperative ocular inflammation and pain
This medicine is used for the treatment of postoperative inflammation and pain in patients who have undergone a cataract extraction.

When not to use?

Allergy
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known allergy to bromfenac, any other NSAIDs, or any other inactive ingredients present along with this medicine.
Asthma
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known history of NSAID-sensitive asthma.

Pregnancy
This medicine is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless necessary. All the risks and benefits should be discussed with the doctor before using this medicine.
Breast-feeding
This medicine is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless necessary. All the risks and benefits should be discussed with the doctor before using this medicine. If the medicine is used, the infant should be monitored closely for any adverse effects.
General warnings
Contact lens
This medicine is not recommended for use if you are wearing soft contact lenses in your eyes. The lens should be removed prior to administration of the eye drops and can be reinserted 10 to 15 minutes post administration.
Sulfite allergic reactions
This medicine contains sodium sulfite and it may cause allergic-type reactions including anaphylactic symptoms and life-threatening or less severe asthmatic episodes in some patients. Report any unusual symptoms to the doctor immediately. Appropriate corrective measures or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required based on the clinical condition of the patient.
Use in pediatrics
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients below 18 years of age since the safety and efficacy of use are not clinically established.
Slow or delayed healing
This medicine may slow or delay healing in some patients. Report any lack of improvement to the doctor immediately. Replacement with a suitable alternative may be necessary in some cases based on the clinical condition.
Increased bleeding time
This medicine should be used with caution in patients with a known history of bleeding disorders due to the increased risk of excessive bleeding. Report any unusual symptoms to the doctor immediately. Close monitoring of bleeding time, appropriate corrective measures, or replacement with a suitable alternative may be necessary based on the clinical condition of the patient.
Keratitis and corneal reactions
Prolonged use of this medicine may result in keratitis, epithelial breakdown, corneal thinning, corneal erosion,
corneal ulceration, or corneal perforation in some patients. Appropriate corrective measures or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required based on the clinical condition of the patient.
Sterility of dropper tip
If the ophthalmic solution of this medicine is contaminated, it may lead to a bacterial infection. Patients are advised to take all hygienic precautions to maintain sterility of the dropper tip and the ophthalmic solution.
Driving or Operating machines
This medicine may cause symptoms such as blurred vision, decreased vision, etc. in some patients. It is advised that you do not perform any activities such as driving a vehicle or operating machinery until your vision is clear, if you experience these symptoms during treatment with this medicine.

Dosage

Missed Dose
Administer the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed one.
Overdose
Seek emergency medical treatment or contact the doctor in case of an overdose.

General Instructions

Use this medicine exactly as prescribed. Do not administer in larger or smaller amounts than advised/prescribed. Consult the doctor if you experience any undesirable side effects. Ensure that the treatment course is completed. Do not stop the use of this medicine without consulting your doctor.
