Lofecam 8 Tablet (Lornoxicam 8mg)

Lofecam 8 Tablet 10’s belongs to a group of medicines called anti-rheumatic and anti-inflammatory agents used to reduce and relieve pain and inflammation (swelling) in osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint disease in which the two ends of the joints come together due to breakdown of a protective covering called cartilage. Rheumatoid arthritis is an auto-immune disease (body’s immune system attacks its tissue), leading to joint pain and damage.

Lofecam 8 Tablet 10’s contains ‘Lornoxicam’ which works by blocking the effect of a chemical messenger known as cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzyme that makes another chemical prostaglandin. Prostaglandins are produced at the injury site and cause pain and inflammation. By blocking the effect of COX enzymes, lesser prostaglandins are produced. This helps in reducing mild to moderate pain and inflammation at the injured or damaged site.

Take Lofecam 8 Tablet 10’s as prescribed. You are advised to take Lofecam 8 Tablet 10’s for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as dizziness, diarrhoea, nausea, headache, vomiting, stomach upset and abdominal pain. Most of these side-effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side-effects persistently.

Lofecam 8 Tablet 10’s increases the risk of fatal heart attack or stroke, stomach ulcers and bleeding. Do not take Lofecam 8 Tablet 10’s if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless prescribed. Lofecam 8 Tablet 10’s should not be taken during the last three months of pregnancy. Lofecam 8 Tablet 10’s may cause dizziness, so drive only if you are alert. Lofecam 8 Tablet 10’s is not recommended for children below 18 years as the safety have not been established. Avoid consuming alcohol along with Lofecam 8 Tablet 10’s as it could lead to increased dizziness and risk of stomach bleeding. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and medicines to rule out any side-effects.
