Description

Lipikind Plus Capsule is a combination of Aspirin, Atorvastatin and Clopidogrel. It is used to prevent stroke (damage to a part of the brain due to incompetent blood supply), heart attack (blockage of heart muscles due to the formation of plaques), due to high cholesterol/fat levels in your body. It works by lowering the bad cholesterol and increases the level of good cholesterol in your body. It also decreases blot clot formation.

Lipikind Plus Capsule may show some side effects like stomach pain, diarrhoea, headache and joint pain. These side effects subside on their own as your body starts adapting to this medicine. Consult your doctor if any side effects persist or worsen. This medicine may also increase the risk of bleeding, therefore be careful while using any sharp tool or objects. It is recommended that you avoid taking this medicine if you are previously allergic to it.

Lipikind Plus Capsule is recommended to be taken with food to avoid an upset stomach. For the ease of remembering, take this medicine around the same time every day. You may have to take this medicine for the long term. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor tells you to do so.

Lipikind Plus Capsule may interact with the action of other medicines. Inform your doctor about any other health issues you have or if you are undergoing any medical treatment before taking this medicine. Consult your doctor before taking this medicine if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding.

Uses of Lipikind Plus Capsule

What is it prescribed for?
Prevention of heart attack and stroke
A heart attack occurs when the blood vessels of your heart get blocked due to clot formation or fat/cholesterol buildup. A blockage in your blood vessels can potentially cause an interruption in blood flow to your brain, resulting in a stroke. Lipikind Plus Capsule is used to lower cholesterol and fat levels while also reducing clot formation, thus it lowers the risk of a heart attack or stroke.

When not to use?

Allergy
Avoid taking Lipikind Plus Capsule if you are previously allergic to it. Seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms of allergic reactions such as skin rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, breathing difficulties, etc.
Bleeding disorder
Lipikind Plus Capsule is not recommended if you have a bleeding disorder such as haemophilia (a condition in which blood does not clot normally) or a recent history of stomach or intestinal bleeding because it may worsen your condition.
Liver disease
If you have any liver disease, do not take Lipikind Plus Capsule. This medicine is metabolised in the liver and if your liver is not functioning properly, it can lead to the accumulation of its metabolites and toxicity in your body.

Warnings for special population

Pregnancy
Lipikind Plus Capsule is usually not advised during pregnancy since it might have significant side effects on your foetus. However, if you are pregnant your doctor may prescribe alternative medicine with the same medicinal effect.
Breast-feeding
Lipikind Plus Capsule is not recommended during breastfeeding as it may affect your infant.
General warnings
Driving or operating machinery
Lipikind Plus Capsule may cause symptoms such as blurred vision, dizziness, drowsiness, etc. If you experience any of these symptoms while taking this medication, it is recommended that you avoid doing any activities that require mental alertness such as driving or operating machines.
Use in children
Lipikind Plus Capsule is not recommended for use in children below 18 years of age since the safety and efficacy data is not established.
Muscle degradation in elderly
Lipikind Plus Capsule may cause muscle breakdown along with symptoms such as severe tiredness and weakness, especially in elderly patients.

Dosage

Missed Dose
If you forget to take a dose of Lipikind Plus Capsule, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next, skip the missed dose. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.
Overdose
Never take more than the prescribed dose of Lipikind Plus Capsule. If you suspect that you might have taken an overdose of this medicine, go to the nearer emergency medical department/hospital.

General Instructions

Take Lipikind Plus Capsule as directed by your doctor. Do not self-medicate or stop on your own.
Do not stop taking this medicine before completion of the course/without consulting your doctor.
To avoid stomach discomfort, take it with food.
Inform your doctor if you are feeling lethargic, if you are not hungry, or if you have yellow eyes or skin.
Inform your doctor if you have muscle pain or weakness associated with fever and nausea.
