When not to use?

Allergy
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known allergy to atorvastatin, ezetimibe, or any other inactive ingredients present along with these medicines.
Active liver disease
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with active liver diseases or any persistent elevations of transaminases due to the increased risk of serious adverse effects.

General warnings
Cognitive impairment
This medicine may cause forgetfulness, memory loss, and confusion in some patients. These symptoms usually disappear gradually once the use of the medicine is discontinued.
Increase in blood sugar levels
This medicine may cause an increase in the blood glucose levels along with an increase in the Glycated Hemoglobin levels. This risk is especially higher in patients with a history of diabetes mellitus. Close monitoring of blood glucose levels, appropriate corrective measures, or replacement with a suitable alternative may be necessary based on the clinical condition of the patient.
Heavy alcohol consumption
This medicine may cause liver and kidney related problems if you consume alcohol very frequently in large quantities during treatment with this medicine.
Coumarin Anticoagulants
This medicine should be used with extreme caution in patients receiving coumarin anticoagulants such as warfarin due to the increased risk of excessive bleeding. Close monitoring of International Normalized Ratio (INR) is recommended for such patients. Replacement with a suitable alternative may be necessary in some cases based on the clinical condition.
Pediatric use
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients less than 18 years of age since the safety and efficacy of use are not clinically established.
Rhabdomyolysis
This medicine may cause rhabdomyolysis, a serious condition characterized by weakness and tenderness of muscles. Any symptoms of muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness should be reported to the doctor immediately. Replacement with a suitable alternative may be required based on the clinical condition of the patient.

Dosage

Missed Dose
The missed dose should be taken as soon as possible. It is advisable to skip the missed dose if it is already time for your next scheduled dose. Do not use extra medicine to make up for the missed dose.
Overdose
Seek emergency medical treatment or contact the doctor in case of an overdose.

General Instructions

Take this medicine as advised by your doctor. It can be taken with or without food. Do not take in larger amounts than advised/prescribed.
