Linokem-600 Tablet 10’s is a synthetic antibiotic belonging to a new class of antimicrobials called the oxazolidinones. It is used to treat bacterial infections of the lungs (pneumonia), and skin. Bacterial infections are caused due to the multiplication of harmful bacteria inside or on the body. Infectious or harmful bacteria can make you sick and reproduce quickly in your body. These harmful bacteria produce chemicals known as toxins, which can damage tissue and make you sick. Linokem-600 Tablet 10’s does not work against infections caused by the virus, including cold and flu.

Linokem-600 Tablet 10’s contains Linezolid, Linokem-600 Tablet 10’s is bacteriostatic with a unique mechanism of action. It inhibits protein synthesis by binding to a site on the bacterial 23S ribosomal RNA of the 50S subunit. This prevents the formation of the 70S ribosomal unit; therefore, protein synthesis is inhibited. Thereby, helps in treating the infections.

Take Linokem-600 Tablet 10’s with or without food. The tablet form of Linokem-600 Tablet 10’s should be swallowed as a whole; do not crush or chew the tablet. The liquid form of Linokem-600 Tablet 10’s should be taken by mouth using the measuring cup provided by the pack; shake the pack well before each use. A healthcare professional will administer the injection form of Linokem-600 Tablet 10’s; do not self-administer. The dose and duration of Linokem-600 Tablet 10’s can vary depending upon your condition and severity of the infection. Also, it is recommended to complete the course of medicine even if you feel better as it is an antibiotic, and leaving it in between may lead to even severe infection that will, in fact, stop responding to the antibiotic as well (antibiotic resistance). In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as thrush (fungal infection), headache, metallic taste, diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, constipation, skin rash, indigestion and localized pain. Most of these side-effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side-effects persistently.

Avoid foods and drinks containing tyramine such as cheese, yeast extracts, soybean extracts, alcohol, beer or wine while taking Linokem-600 Tablet 10’s as it may react with tyramine and lead to an increase in blood pressure. Avoid taking Linokem-600 Tablet 10’s if you are pregnant unless prescribed by a doctor. Linokem-600 Tablet 10’s passes into breastmilk, so do not take Linokem-600 Tablet 10’s if you are breastfeeding. Avoid alcohol consumption while taking Linokem-600 Tablet 10’s to increased dizziness and blood pressure. Linokem-600 Tablet 10’s may cause dizziness and vision problems, so be cautious while driving and operating machinery.

Store in a cool and dry place away from sunlight

Like all medicines, Linokem-600 Tablet 10’s can also cause side-effects, although not everybody experiences them. Thrush (fungal infection), headache, metallic taste, diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, constipation, skin rash, indigestion and localized pain are the common side-effects of Linokem-600 Tablet 10’s.
