Description

Lecet AM Tablet is a combination of Ambroxol and Levocetirizine. It is used to treat cough and allergic symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes, etc. It works by blocking the action of a chemical substance responsible for allergy. It also helps to loosen the thick mucous and makes it easier to cough out.

Lecet AM Tablet may cause some common side effects such as sleepiness, diarrhoea, dry mouth, tirednes, headache, etc. Consult your doctor if these symptoms stay for a long time or if they become severe.

Lecet AM Tablet should be taken as prescribed by your doctor. Avoid taking more or less than the prescribed dose. Avoid the discontinuation of this medicine without consulting your doctor. Consult your doctor if your symptoms do not improve even after taking this medicine for the prescribed duration.

Lecet AM Tablet should be avoided if you are allergic to it. Inform your doctor if you have liver or kidney problems. This medicine is not recommended for use in children below 12 years of age. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, or are breastfeeding.

What is it prescribed for?
Productive cough
A cough is your body’s response to an irritant in your throat or lungs. It can occur in the presence of an infection or an allergy. A productive cough is associated with the release of mucous (thick slippery fluid). Lecet AM Tablet works by loosening the mucus and makes it easier to cough out. It also helps in relieving allergic symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes, etc.

When not to use?

Severe kidney impairment
Lecet AM Tablet is not recommended for use if you have severe kidney problems. This medicine is excreted from your body through kidneys and impaired kidney function may lead to an increased risk of side effects.
Allergy
Avoid taking Lecet AM Tablet if you are allergic to it. Seek immediate medical attention if you notice any worsening of your allergic symptoms such as skin rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, breathing difficulty, etc.

Other medicines

Urinary retention
Urinary retention is a condition in which you are unable to empty your bladder completely during urination. It may occur due to various conditions like benign prostatic hyperplasia (a condition that causes abnormal enlargement of prostate glands), spinal cord lesion [damaged tissue of the spine (backbone)], etc. Lecet AM Tablet should be used with caution if you have such conditions as it may increase the risk of urinary retention.

Dosage

Missed Dose
Try not to skip a dose of Lecet AM Tablet. Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed one. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one.
Overdose
Do not take more than the prescribed dose. Reach the nearest emergency medical department in case of an overdose with Lecet AM Tablet.

General Instructions

Take Lecet AM Tablet with or without food as directed by your doctor. Do not break, crush, or chew the tablet.

Drink an adequate amount of water as it can also help in loosening mucous from your airways.

Avoid taking more or less than the prescribed dose. Avoid discontinuation of Lecet AM Tablet without consulting your doctor.

Avoid consuming alcohol while taking Lecet AM Tablet as it may cause severe drowsiness and dizziness. Do not drive or operate machines after taking this medicine as it may affect your alertness.
