Lashisma Eye Solution (Bimatoprost 0.3mg)

INTRODUCTION

LASHISMA contains Bimatoprost which belongs to a group of medicines known as prostamides. It is an anti-glaucoma preparation, used to reduce high pressure in the eye. It may be used on its own or with other drops called beta-blockers which also reduce pressure. Eyes contain a clear, watery liquid that feeds the inside of the eye. Liquid is frequently being drained out of the eye and new liquid is made to replace this. If the liquid cannot drain out quickly, the pressure inside the eye builds up. Remove the contact lenses before applying this medicine.

Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor has directed you. This medicine should only be applied to the eye. This medicine may cause your eyelashes to darken and grow and cause the skin around the eyelid to darken too. The colour of your iris may become darker over time. These changes may be permanent. Consult your doctor for advice. It is not recommended for children and adolescents under the age of 18 years.

HOW LASHISMA WORKS

LASHISMA works by increasing the amount of liquid that is drained which reduces the pressure inside the eye. If the high pressure is not reduced, it could lead to a disease called glaucoma and eventually damage your sight. It reduces intraocular pressure (IOP) in humans by causing an increase in outflow of the aqueous humor via the trabecular meshwork and uveoscleral pathways.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor has directed you. This medicine should only be applied to the eye. The recommended dose is one drop in the evening, once daily in each eye. Do not use more than once a day as the effectiveness of treatment may be reduced.

SIDE EFFECTS OF LASHISMA

COMMON
Longer eyelashes, slight redness and itchiness in eye
Allergic reaction
Headaches
Dry, burning eyes
Eye pain, tearing or irritation

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS

Itchy eyes:

Rinse your eyes with preservative-free saline water or apply a cold, wet washcloth.Don’t rub your eyes often.

Feeling sick (nausea) or indigestion:

Stick to simple meals and do not eat rich or spicy foods.

Drowsiness or dizziness:

Get up and move around to feel awake, take small naps to edge off the sleepiness. Give your eyes a break to avoid fatigue and eat a healthy food to boost energy.

WARNING & PRECAUTIONS

PREGNANCY
LASHISMA should be used with caution in pregnant women. Consult your doctor before using this medicine.

BREASTFEEDING
LASHISMA is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless necessary. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.

DRIVING AND USING MACHINES
LASHISMA may cause blurred vision for a short time. Do not drive or handle any machines while using this medicine.

KIDNEY
LASHISMA should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Consult your doctor for advice.

LIVER
LASHISMA should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Consult your doctor for advice.

ALLERGY
Do not use if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to Bimatoprost or any other ingredients in this medicine.

HEART DISEASE
LASHISMA should be used with caution in patients with severe heart disease. Consult your doctor for advice.
