Itrotab-100Mg Capsule 4’S belongs to a class of drugs called antifungals used to treat various fungal and yeast infections of skin, mouth, nails, hands, feet, digestive tract, throat, vagina and other parts of the body. Fungal infection is a skin disease in which a fungus attacks the tissue and cause infection. Fungal infections may be contagious (spread from one person to another). Yeast infection is caused by a type of fungus called candida and commonly occurs in moist and warm areas of the body.

The fungal cell membranes are essential for their survival as they prevent the entry of unwanted substances into the cells and stops the leakage of cell contents. Itrotab-100Mg Capsule 4’S works by inhibiting the production of ergosterol (a main component of cell membranes of fungi). Thereby, weakens and damages the fungal cell membranes causing the main components of fungal cells to leak out. Thus, kills fungi and clears the fungal infection.

Itrotab-100Mg Capsule 4’S is available in both oral, injection and topical dosage forms. The oral dosage form of Itrotab-100Mg Capsule 4’S should be taken as prescribed by your doctor. The injection form of Itrotab-100Mg Capsule 4’S is given as an intravenous (IV) infusion by a doctor or nurse. The topical form of Itrotab-100Mg Capsule 4’S can be taken on the finger and applied as a thin layer on the clean and dry affected area. Avoid contact of Itrotab-100Mg Capsule 4’S with nose, mouth or eyes. In case Itrotab-100Mg Capsule 4’S comes in contact with these areas accidentally, rinse with water thoroughly. Some people may experience nausea, headache, diarrhoea, tiredness, cough, cold, throat pain, back pain and stomach pain. Most of these side effects of Itrotab-100Mg Capsule 4’S do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

Itrotab-100Mg Capsule 4’S is a pregnancy category C drug and may cause harm to the unborn baby. However, if you are pregnant, planning for pregnancy or a nursing mother, it is advised to consult a doctor before using Itrotab-100Mg Capsule 4’S. Do not take Itrotab-100Mg Capsule 4’S if you had heart failure as it may cause severe life-threatening adverse effects. If you have kidney, liver, heart or lung problems, inform your doctor before taking Itrotab-100Mg Capsule 4’S. Avoid taking fentanyl (a strong opioid narcotic medicine) with Itrotab-100Mg Capsule 4’S as it may cause severe breathing problems and can even lead to death. If you experience numbness or tingling in your hands or feet, stop taking Itrotab-100Mg Capsule 4’S and consult your doctor immediately as they might be symptoms of nerve damage.

Directions for Use

Orally: If you are prescribed Itrotab-100Mg Capsule 4’S in oral form, swallow the whole tablet with a glass of water. If you are taking any stomach acid reducer, take Itrotab-100Mg Capsule 4’S with cola. Take Itrotab-100Mg Capsule 4’S with food to avoid stomach upset. Do not break, crush or chew it. If it is oral suspension form, shake the bottle well before use and take Itrotab-100Mg Capsule 4’S an empty stomach at least 1 or 2 hours before meals as prescribed by your doctor with a measuring cup or spoon provided.Injection: Itrotab-100Mg Capsule 4’S in injection form is given as an intravenous (IV) infusion by a doctor or nurse.Topically: Use Itrotab-100Mg Capsule 4’S as prescribed by your doctor. Wash your hands before and after applying Itrotab-100Mg Capsule 4’S. Take a small amount of Itrotab-100Mg Capsule 4’S and apply as a thin layer on the clean and dry affected area. Itrotab-100Mg Capsule 4’S is only for external use. Avoid contact of Itrotab-100Mg Capsule 4’S with eyes as it may cause irritation. In case Itrotab-100Mg Capsule 4’S comes in contact with eyes accidentally, rinse with water thoroughly.

Drug Interactions

Drug-Drug Interaction: Itrotab-100Mg Capsule 4’S may interact with antacids (esomeprazole, omeprazole, pantoprazole), corticosteroids (fluticasone, budesonide), opioid pain killers (hydrocodone), blood thinners (warfarin), blood cholesterol-lowering medicines (simvastatin), anti-allergic drug (terfenadine) and antianxiety drug (alprazolam).

Drug-Food Interaction: Itrotab-100Mg Capsule 4’S may interact with grapefruit juice. Therefore, avoid intake of grapefruit juice with Itrotab-100Mg Capsule 4’S as it may reduce the effect of Itrotab-100Mg Capsule 4’S. Also, avoid intake of marijuana with Itrotab-100Mg Capsule 4’S as it may worsen the adverse effects of marijuana.
