Community acquired pneumonia
Invanz 1 gm Injection is used in the treatment of community-acquired pneumonia which is the most common type of lung infection caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, etc.
Complicated urinary tract infections
Invanz 1 gm Injection is used in the treatment of urinary tract infections caused by E. coli or Klebsiella pneumoniae.
Acute pelvic infections
Invanz 1 gm Injection is used in the treatment of pelvic infections caused by Bacteroides fragilis, Streptococcus agalactiae, Escherichia coli, Peptostreptococcus species, etc.
Complicated Intraabdominal Infection

When not to use?
Allergy
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known allergy to ertapenem or any other medicine belonging to the beta-lactam antibiotics class. Lidocaine HCl is used as a diluent in formulations of Invanz 1 gm Injection. Hence, this medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known allergy to lidocaine or any other local anesthetics of the amide type.
