Hifenac SR 200mg Tablet 10’s belongs to a group of medicines called Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) or pain killer used to reduce and relieve pain, redness, and inflammation (swelling) in patients suffering from osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease in which the immune system of the body attacks its own cells and cause damages, thereby causing joint pain with inflammation.

Hifenac SR 200mg Tablet 10’s contains ‘Aceclofenac‘ which works by blocking the effect of a chemical messenger known as cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzyme that makes another chemical ‘prostaglandins’ (PG). Prostaglandins play an important role in controlling pain and inflammation. By blocking the effect of COX enzymes, lesser PGs are produced. This helps in reducing mild to moderate pain and inflammation at the injured or damaged site decreasing stiffness in joints.

You can take Hifenac SR Tablet 10’s with or after food. Take Hifenac SR 200mg Tablet 10’s as prescribed by the doctor. You are advised to take Hifenac SR Tablet 10’s for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as dizziness, diarrhoea, nausea, increased liver enzymes in the blood. Most of these side-effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side-effects persistently.

Hifenac SR Tablet 10’s can increase your risk of fatal heart attack or stroke. So, if you have had any recent heart surgery, do not use Hifenac SR Tablet 10’s. To treat your condition effectually, continue taking Hifenac SR 200mg Tablet 10’s for as long as your doctor has prescribed. Do not take Hifenac SR Tablet 10’s if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless prescribed by the doctor. Hifenac SR Tablet 10’s may cause drowsiness and dizziness, so drive with caution. Hifenac SR Tablet 10’s should not be given to children as safety and efficacy have not been established. Avoid consuming alcohol along with Hifenac SR Tablet 10’s as it could lead to increased drowsiness and dizziness; it might also increase the risk of stomach bleeding.
