About Gledepa Met XR 10mg / 500mg Tablet:
Gledepa Met XR 10mg / 500mg tablet is a combination of two anti-diabetic medications, used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus.
Each film coated Gledepa Met XR 10 mg/500 mg tablet contains Dapagliflozin Propanedion monohydrate eq. to Dapagliflozin 10 mg, Metformin Hydrochloride 500 mg (In extended release form).
Dapagliflozin is a sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor, inhibits the SGLT2 co-transporter, which leads to lower reabsorption of filtered glucose into the body and decreases the renal threshold for glucose (RTG), leading to increased glucose excretion in the urine.
Metformin is a biguanide antihyperglycaemic agent which improves glucose tolerance by lowering both basal and postprandial plasma glucose. It decreases hepatic glucose production, delays intestinal glucose absorption, and improves insulin sensitivity by enhancing peripheral glucose uptake and utilization.
