Folitrax-7.5 Tablet 10’s belongs to the class of medicine called ‘immunosuppressant’ that helps to reduce the pain and inflammation and immune system’s strength to treat conditions of autoimmune diseases. Folitrax-7.5 Tablet 10’s is considered as first-line therapy for patients with various arthritis conditions like rheumatoid arthritis (RA), psoriatic arthritis (PsA) and juvenile idiopathic arthritis. Besides this, Folitrax-7.5 Tablet 10’s also acts as an ‘antimetabolite’ or ‘anticancer’.

Folitrax-7.5 Tablet 10’s contains ‘Methotrexate’ that works by reducing the function of the cells causing inflammation in the joint tissues. It reduces pain, inflammation, and slow joint damage and disease progression over time, hence Folitrax-7.5 Tablet 10’s is also known as a disease-modifying anti rheumatic drug (DMARD). Besides this, Folitrax-7.5 Tablet 10’s also acts as ‘anticancer’ or ‘antimetabolite’ by stopping cancer cells from growing and spreading by blocking their access to folate (a form of vitamin B9). Thus, together Folitrax-7.5 Tablet 10’s stops growth of cancer cells and helps in reducing the cells working properly preventing the growth of cancer cells.

Take Folitrax-7.5 Tablet 10’s one hour after food in the evening, once every week. Take Folitrax-7.5 Tablet 10’s on the same day each week. The tablet form of Folitrax-7.5 Tablet 10’s should be swallowed as a whole with a glass of water; do not break, or chew the tablet. The injection form of Folitrax-7.5 Tablet 10’s will be administered by a healthcare professional; do not self-administer. You are advised to take Folitrax-7.5 Tablet 10’s for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, unusual fatigue, dizziness, headache, loss of appetite, increase in liver enzymes, lowered resistance to infections, tingling sensation, stomach pain, leukopenia (decreased number of white blood cells), and soreness of mouth and lips. Most of these side-effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side-effects persistently.

To treat your condition effectually, continue taking Folitrax-7.5 Tablet 10’s for as long as your doctor has prescribed. To avoid recurring symptoms, do not stop it midway. Take Folitrax-7.5 Tablet 10’s only once a week as prescribed by the doctor; daily intake of Folitrax-7.5 Tablet 10’s could lead to serious side-effects. Do not take Folitrax-7.5 Tablet 10’s if you are pregnant or planning for pregnancy as Folitrax-7.5 Tablet 10’s causes serious birth defects. Folitrax-7.5 Tablet 10’s should not be taken by breastfeeding mothers as it passes into breast milk. Folitrax-7.5 Tablet 10’s causes dizziness and drowsiness, so drive with caution. Folitrax-7.5 Tablet 10’s should not be given to children as safety and efficacy have not been established. Avoid consuming alcohol along with Folitrax-7.5 Tablet 10’s as it could lead to increased dizziness.
