Description

Flutrol 250 Capsule is a combination of Fluticasone Propionate and Salmeterol. This medicine is used to relieve symptoms such as wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, breathing difficulty, coughing, etc. caused by asthma (a condition that causes narrowing of the airways) and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (lung conditions in which the airflow is blocked, leading to breathing difficulty). It works by relaxing and widening the muscles in your airways.

Flutrol 250 Capsule may cause some side effects like headache, throat irritation, stuffy nose, and hoarseness of voice. Inform your doctor if these side effects remain for a long time or become severe. Avoid using it if you are allergic to it.

Flutrol 250 Capsule should be used in the dose and duration prescribed by your doctor. For the ease of remembering, use it around the same time every day. Even if you see an improvement in your condition, do not stop using it. If you discontinue this medicine early, your symptoms may reoccur. It should not be used to relieve sudden asthma attacks.

Flutrol 250 Capsule may not be suitable for all people. It is not recommended for use in children below 12 years of age. Inform your doctor if you have liver or heart problems, diabetes, active infections, or other medical conditions. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or are breastfeeding.

When not to use?

Allergy

Status asthmaticus
Status asthmaticus is a severe form of asthma that is sudden and does not respond to standard treatments. These attacks can last for several minutes or even hours. Flutrol 250 Capsule is not recommended for use if you have status asthmaticus as it is not effective in treating this condition.

General warnings
Hypokalaemia
Flutrol 250 Capsule may cause a decrease in blood potassium levels and lead to heart-related complications. Hence this medicine should be used with caution if you have hypokalaemia (low blood potassium levels).
Seizure disorder
Seizure is an abnormal and uncontrolled electrical activity in the brain causing uncontrolled jerking of the body. Flutrol 250 Capsule should be used with caution if you have seizure disorder as it may worsen your condition.
Use in children
Flutrol 250 Capsule is not recommended for use in children less than 12 years of age as the safety and efficacy data are not clinically established.

Dosage

Missed Dose
If you miss a dose of Flutrol 250 Capsule, administer the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed dose.
Overdose
Seek emergency medical treatment in case of an overdose of Flutrol 250 Capsule.
