INTRODUCTION
DUZELA 30MG contain duloxetine which belongs to a group of medicine called serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs). It is used in adults to treat depression, generalized anxiety disorder and diabetic neuropathic pain. It works by increasing the levels of chemical messengers such as serotonin and noradrenaline, natural substances in the brain that help maintain mental balance and stop the movement of pain signals in the brain.
Depression is a mood disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest which affects how you feel, think and behave and can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems. Generalized anxiety disorder is a long-term condition that causes you to feel anxious most days and often struggle to remember the last time they felt relaxed. Diabetic neuropathy is a type of nerve damage characterized by tingling, burning, sharp, shooting, and lancinating or even as electric shock sensations that can occur if you have diabetes. High blood sugar (glucose) can injure nerves throughout your body.
Always take DUZELA 30MG exactly as your doctor has told you. This medicine must be taken with or without food. Duzela 30mg is not recommended for use in children and adolescents under 18 years. Before taking this medicine tell your doctor if you have ever had kidney disease, heart disease, liver problems. Do not drive or operate any machine while taking this medicine as it may cause sleepiness or dizziness. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before taking Duzela 30mg medicine. The most common side effects are nausea, headache, dry mouth, trouble sleeping.

HOW DUZELA 30MG WORKS

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Always take DUZELA 30MG exactly as your doctor has told you. Duzela 30mg medicine must be taken with or without food. Try to take his medicine at the same time each day. It should be swallowed whole with water. Do not crush or chew the medicine.
SIDE EFFECTS OF DUZELA 30MG
COMMON
- Headache
- Feeling sleepy
- Nausea, vomiting
- Dry mouth, lack of appetite
- Trouble sleeping, feeling agitated, less sex drive, anxiety, difficulty, or failure to experience orgasm, unusual dreams
- Dizziness, feeling sluggish, tremor, numbness with pricking and tingling of the skin
- Blurred vision
- Tinnitus
- Feeling the heart pumping in the chest
- Increased blood pressure, flushing
- Increased yawning
- Constipation, diarrhoea, stomach pain, heartburn or indigestion, breaking wind
- Increased sweating, (itchy) rash
- Muscle pain, muscle spasm
- Painful urination, frequent urination
- Problems getting an erection, changes in ejaculation
RARE
- Serious allergic reaction such as difficulty in breathing, dizziness with swollen tongue and lips
- Decrease in thyroid gland activity which can causes tiredness, weight gain
- Dehydration and low levels of sodium in blood
- Suicidal behaviour, mania, hallucinations, aggression, and anger
- Serotonin syndrome, fits
- Glaucoma
- Inflammation of the mouth, passing bright red blood cells in your tools, bad breath, inflammation of the large intestine (leading to diarrhoea)
- Liver failure, jaundice (yellowing of the skin and whites of the eyes)
- Stevens-Johnson syndrome (serious illness with blistering of the skin, mouth, eyes, and genitals)
- Contraction of the jaw muscle
- Abnormal urine odour
- Menopausal symptoms and abnormal production of breast milk
HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS
Headache:
Apply hot or cold-water bag on your head. Take rest in a quiet and dark room. Drink tea or coffee.
Nausea and vomiting:
Try taking this medicine with, or just after, a meal or snack and stick to simple meals and do not eat rich or spicy food.
Dry mouth:
Chew sugar-free gum or suck sugar-free hard candies. Control caffeine intake. Do not use mouthwashes. Sip water regularly.
Dizziness:
Get up and move around to feel awake, take small naps to edge off the sleepiness. Give your eyes a break to avoid fatigue and eat a healthy food to boost energy.
Constipation:
Take fibre rich foods such as fresh fruit, vegetables and cereals, and drink plenty of water. Exercise more regularly.
Diarrhoea:
Drink lot of fluid such as water or squash, to avoid dehydration. Do not take any other medicines without talking to a doctor.
Stomach pain:
Keep try to rest and relax. Eat and drink slowly and smaller and frequent meals. Applying a heat pad or covered hot water bottle on your stomach. If still pain persists, speak to your doctor.
WARNING & PRECAUTIONS
PREGNANCY
DUZELA 30MG should be used with caution in pregnant women. Consult your doctor before taking this medicine.
BREASTFEEDING
DUZELA 30MG is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless necessary. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
DRIVING AND USING MACHINES Duzela 30mg
Do not drive or operate any machine while taking this medicine as it may cause sleepiness or dizziness.
ALCOHOL
Consumption of alcohol is not recommended during treatment with DUZELA 30MG.
KIDNEY
DUZELA 30MG is not recommended in patients with active kidney diseases. Before taking, discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
LIVER
DUZELA 30MG is not recommended in patients with active liver diseases. Before taking, discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
ALLERGY
Do not take DUZELA 30MG if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to duloxetine or any other ingredients in this medicine.
HEART DISEASE
DUZELA 30MG should be used with caution in patients suffering from active heart diseases. Consult your doctor for advice.
OTHERS
Tell your doctor if you have or had a condition such as,
- High blood pressure
- Seizures (fits)
- Mania
- Bipolar disorder
- Eye problems such as certain kinds of glaucoma
- A history of bleeding disorder (tendency to develop bruises)
- Low sodium levels
- Sensation of restlessness or an inability to sit and stand still
- Depressed or have anxiety disorder
- Thoughts of harming and killing yourself
INTERACTIONS
Talk to your doctor if you are taking,
- Medicines used to treat depression
- Antibiotic such as linezolid (used to treat infection)
- Medicines such as triptans, tramadol, tryptophan
- SSRIs such as paroxetine and fluoxetine
- SNRIs such as venlafaxine
- St John’s Wort (hypericum perforatum)
- Medicines with oral anticoagulants or antiplatelet agents (used to prevent blood clot)
