Dilate Eye Drop (Cyclopentolate 1%)

Description

Dilate Eye Drops is used to dilate the pupil and to temporarily paralyze the lens for an eye examination or other diagnostic procedures. This medicine may also be used before and after an eye surgery where dilation of the pupil is required.

What is it prescribed for?
Mydriasis
This medicine is used to dilate the pupil for an eye examination or other diagnostic procedures.
Cycloplegia
This medicine is used to temporarily paralyze the ciliary muscle of the eye for an eye examination or other diagnostic procedures.

When not to use?

Allergy
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with known allergy to cyclopentolate or any other inactive ingredients present along with it.
Narrow-angle glaucoma
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients suffering from narrow-angle glaucoma due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient’s condition.

Dosage

Missed Dose
Since this medicine is usually given prior to eye procedures, the likelihood of missing a dose is very low.
Overdose
Since this medicine is administered in the clinic or hospital setting under the supervision of a qualified healthcare professional, the likelihood of an overdose is very low. However, emergency medical treatment will be initiated by the doctor if an overdose is suspected.
