About Derobin Ointment 30 gm

Derobin Ointment 30 gm belongs to a combination medication called dermatological preparations used to treat skin conditions like psoriasis and eczema. It helps to reduce swelling, itching, redness and remove dead skin cells. Psoriasis is a chronic (long-term) skin condition in which skin cells multiply faster than normal, resulting in white scales and itchy, dry patches. Eczema is an allergic condition of the skin caused due to bacteria, virus, or fungi.

Derobin Ointment 30 gm contains Dithranol (antipsoriatic drug), Salicylic acid (peeling agent and antiinflammatory) and Coal tar (keratolytic agents). Dithranol, also known as Anthralin, is an antipsoriatic drug that works by slowing down the production of skin cells. Salicylic acid and Coal tar are keratolytic agents that work by breaking down a protein known as keratin (that forms part of skin structure) which removes dead skin cell, peel dead cells of the skin and softens skin.

Derobin Ointment 30 gm is only for external use. Take a small amount of Derobin Ointment 30 gm and apply as a thin layer on the clean and dry affected area. Avoid contact of Derobin Ointment 30 gm with normal skin, nose, mouth, eyes, skin folds or genitals. In case Derobin Ointment 30 gm comes in contact with these areas accidentally, rinse with water thoroughly. Some people may experience skin irritation or staining of the skin. Most of these side effects of Derobin Ointment 30 gm do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are known to be allergic to salicylic acid, coal tar or dithranol, please tell your doctor. Drug-Drug Interaction: Derobin Ointment 30 gm may interact with vitamin A-related drugs known as retinoids (isotretinoin, tretinoin, trifarotene, tazarotene, adapalene), anti-cancer drugs (alitretinoin, bexarotene).
