Description

Cepodem 50 MG Suspension is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections of the lungs, nose, throat, ears, skin, bladder, etc in children. It is also used to treat typhoid fever. This medicine prevents infection by killing or stopping the growth of bacteria. Cepodem 50 MG Suspension is not effective against infections caused by viruses.

Cepodem 50 MG Suspension shows some common side effects like diarrhoea, stomach pain, headache, weakness, nausea, and vomiting. Do not give this medicine if your child is allergic to it. Consult your child’s doctor if any side effects are seen for a long time.

Cepodem 50 MG Suspension can be given with or without food. For the ease of remembering, give the syrup to your child at the same time every day. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking this medication, you may repeat the dose. Once your child starts taking the medicine, ensure that the entire course of treatment is completed to prevent re-infection.

Cepodem 50 MG Suspension may not be suitable for all conditions. Inform the doctor if your child has liver or kidney problems, or any other health condition.

When not to use?

Dosage

Missed Dose
Try not to skip a dose of Cepodem 50 MG Suspension. If you forget to give a dose to your child, give it as soon as you remember. However, if it is time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double the dose to compensate for the missed dose.
Overdose
Never give more than the prescribed dose to your child. Seek emergency medical attention in case of an overdose with Cepodem 50 MG Suspension.

General Instructions

You can give Cepodem 50 MG Suspension with or without food as prescribed by your doctor. Shake the bottle well before use. Measure the dose of the medicine carefully using a measuring device. Make sure that your child takes the necessary volume of Cepodem 50 MG Suspension.

Never give more than the prescribed dose to your child. Give the medicine at the same time daily.

Make sure that your child completes the entire course of this medicine even if the symptoms disappear after few days. If your child discontinues this medicine, there is a chance that the infection may occur again. Also, Cepodem 50 MG Suspension may lose its effectiveness in killing the bacteria.

Do not recommend this medicine to other parents even if their child’s condition appears to be the same.
