About Ceftas-CL 200 Tablet
Ceftas-CL 200 Tablet 10’s belongs to a group of drugs known as ‘antibiotics’ that is used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. It effectively treats infections of the respiratory tract (pneumonia), urinary tract, ear, nose, and throat. Additionally, it is also prescribed to treat STDs (Sexually Transmitted Diseases). Infectious or harmful bacteria can make you sick and reproduce quickly in your body. These harmful bacteria produce chemicals known as toxins, which can damage tissue and make you sick.
Ceftas-CL 200 Tablet 10’s is a combination medicine containing: Cefixime, Cloxacillin and Lactobacillus Sporogenes used to treat bacterial infections. Cefixime works by blocking the chemical (mucopeptides) released by the outer layer (cell wall) of the bacteria and destroying the bacterial cell wall. Cloxacillin blocks the third and last stage of synthesis of bacteria’s outer layer (cell wall). Lactobacillus is used as a probiotic. It helps balance the number of beneficial bacteria in the digestive tract (gut) to manage water loss (diarrhoea) due to antibiotics or infections.
Take Ceftas-CL 200 Tablet 10’s as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take Ceftas-CL 200 Tablet 10’s for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending upon your medical condition. You may experience certain common side-effects such as nausea, stomach pain, indigestion, diarrhoea in some cases. Most of these side-effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side-effects persistently.

Before starting Ceftas-CL 200 Tablet 10’s, please inform your doctor if you have any allergy (against any antibiotic), or have kidney or liver problems. Ceftas-CL 200 Tablet 10’s should not be given to the patients who are allergic to cephalosporin or penicillin antibiotics, a newborn baby with jaundice. It will not work for viral infections such as flu or the common cold. Using any antibiotic when you do not need it can make it less effective for future infections. If prescribed by your doctor, Ceftas-CL 200 Tablet 10’s is safe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding but use with caution. If you are using Ceftas-CL 200 Tablet 10’s, please do not get a live vaccination (cholera vaccine, typhoid vaccine, Bacillus Calmette-Guérin). It is known to interact with Ceftas-CL 200 Tablet 10’s and affects its efficacy.
Drug Interactions
Drug-Drug Interactions: Ceftas-CL 200 Tablet 10’s is known to interact with live vaccines (cholera vaccine, typhoid vaccine and Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (is used in a solution to stimulate the immune system in the treatment of bladder cancer and as a vaccine to prevent tuberculosis)), sulphonamides (trimethoprim), other antibiotics (azithromycin, gentamycin), blood thinners (warfarin), anti-gout which decreases uric acid (allopurinol, probenecid), and pain killer (aspirin).
Drug-Food Interactions: Ceftas-CL 200 Tablet 10’s is known to interact with alcohol. Avoid taking eating high-fat meals as this makes it harder for your body to absorb Ceftas-CL 200 Tablet 10’s. Eating grapefruit during antibiotics treatment can prevent the body from utilizing Ceftas-CL 200 Tablet 10’s properly. So, avoid intake of grapefruit or grapefruit juice with the antibiotic. Avoid taking too much calcium enriched foods and drinks as it might affect the working of Ceftas-CL 200 Tablet 10’s.
Drug-Disease Interactions: Ceftas-CL 200 Tablet 10’s is known to interact in patients with liver or kidney problems, gout, colitis (bowel disease that affects the large intestine, causing irritation, inflammation, and ulcers in the colon), marrow toxicity (bone marrow suppression).
