Ceftas 400 Tablet (Cefixime 400mg)

Description

Ceftas 400 MG Tablet is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections affecting the lungs, throat, kidneys, bladder, ureter, and urethra. It is also used to treat a sexually transmitted infection called gonorrhoea. This medicine kills bacteria and prevents the spread of infections. It is not effective against infections caused by viruses or fungi.

Ceftas 400 MG Tablet has some common side effects such as diarrhoea, stomach pain, headache, weakness, nausea, and vomiting. Consult your doctor if these symptoms persist or worsen. Avoid any activity that requires concentration if you feel drowsy after taking this medicine. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to it.

Ceftas 400 MG Tablet can be taken with or without food. Take it as directed by your doctor and ensure that you complete the entire course of this medicine. Do not stop taking this medicine on your own, as it may cause re-infection that would be difficult to treat. Contact your doctor if you do not feel better even after completing the course of treatment.

Gonorrhoea
Gonorrhoea is a sexually transmitted disease caused by Neisseria gonorrhoea bacteria that infects both men and women. It is caused by unprotected sexual intercourse with an infected person. Ceftas 400 MG Tablet is used to treat Gonorrhoea.
Pharyngitis/Tonsillitis
Pharyngitis and tonsillitis are infections that cause swelling and soreness in the throat and tonsils. If the infection affects both the throat and the tonsils, it is called pharyngotonsillitis. Ceftas 400 MG Tablet is used to treat pharyngitis, tonsillitis, and/or pharyngotonsillitis.
Acute bronchitis
Acute bronchitis is a condition in which the bronchial tubes that carry air to and from the lungs become inflamed. It causes narrowing of the airways leading to symptoms such as coughing and wheezing. Ceftas 400 MG Tablet is used to treat acute bronchitis caused by bacteria.

When not to use?

Allergy
Avoid taking Ceftas 400 MG Tablet if you are allergic to it. Seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms such as skin rash, itching/swelling (especially of your face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, breathing difficulty, etc.

Dosage

Missed Dose
Take the missed dose of Ceftas 400 MG Tablet as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed one.
Overdose
Never take more than the prescribed dose. Seek emergency medical attention in case of an overdose with Ceftas 400 MG Tablet.

General Instructions

Ceftas 400 MG Tablet may be taken with or without food as instructed by your doctor. Avoid taking more or less than the prescribed dose.

Finish the entire course of treatment and avoid discontinuing this medicine on your own, even if you feel better after a few doses.

Ceftas 400 MG Tablet may kill the helpful bacteria in your stomach and intestine and cause diarrhoea. Consult your doctor if it persists or worsens.

Do not give your medicine to others even if their condition appears to be the same as yours.
