Calchek-L 2.5 Tablet is a combination medicine that consists of Amlodipine and Lisinopril. It is an anti-hypertensive medicine used for the treatment of high blood pressure. It relaxes your heart muscles and widens the blood vessels which decreases blood pressure and helps your heart to pump blood more effectively throughout your body.

Calchek-L 2.5 Tablet shows common side effects like cough, dizziness, headache, tiredness, nausea, stomach pain, swelling in your ankles or feet. These symptoms generally disappear with time, contact your doctor immediately if they persist for a long time. Calchek-L 2.5 Tablet may cause dizziness and drowsiness, so avoid driving or taking part in work that requires concentration.

Calchek-L 2.5 Tablet can be taken with or without food. Do not stop taking Calchek-L 2.5 Tablet without your doctor’s recommendation as it can lead to a sudden increase in blood pressure. You should be careful while getting up suddenly from a sitting or lying down position, as this medicine can cause dizziness and fainting in some cases.

Calchek-L 2.5 Tablet can interact with other medicines. Inform your doctor about any medications that you may be taking and also about any medical conditions that you may be having like heart and liver problems. When not to use?

Allergy
Avoid using Calchek-L 2.5 Tablet if you are allergic to amlodipine, lisinopril or other inactive ingredients present in the formulation. A serious side effect of this medicine is rare. However, seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms such as a skin rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, breathing difficulty, etc.
Aliskiren
Avoid taking Aliskiren (a medicine used to reduce blood pressure) and Calchek-L 2.5 Tablet together due to the increased risk of serious side effects. This risk is especially high in the elderly population and if you have diabetes and/or kidney problems.

Dosage

Missed Dose
If you forget to take Calchek-L 2.5 Tablet, take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed one.
Overdose
Never take more than the dose prescribed by your doctor. Seek emergency medical treatment in case of an overdose of Calchek-L 2.5 Tablet.

General Instructions

Take Calchek-L 2.5 Tablet with or without food. The treatment is often long-term, hence do not stop the use of Calchek-L 2.5 Tablet without your doctor’s advice.

Consult your doctor if you experience any undesirable side effects. Be careful when standing up suddenly from a sitting or lying down position as Calchek-L 2.5 Tablet may cause you to feel dizzy or lightheaded.

Avoid potassium rich-food or potassium supplements unless advised by your doctor as it may increase the potassium level in your blood.
