Actilyse 20mg Injection (Alteplase 20mg)

Actilyse 20mg Infusion belongs to a group of drugs called thrombolytics and they dissolve blood clots quickly. It helps restart blood flow to the heart and also helps prevent damage to the heart muscle. In simple words we can say that this medicine helps in dissolving blood clots.

This medication is available in an injectable dosage form to be given directly intravenously by a health care professionals. A common side effect of this medication is bleeding.

• It is a prescription medication used to treat:
• Acute myocardial infarction (heart attack)
• Acute ischemic stroke (loss of blood flow to the brain)
• Pulmonary embolism (blood clot that has travelled to the lungs)

Do not take alteplase if you:

• are allergic to alteplase or any of its ingredients
• have an active bleed
• have a history of a brain injury
• have had recent major surgery or trauma especially in the head
• severely uncontrolled high blood pressure
• have or have had any problems managing bleeding conditions in the past
