Description

Moxcent 0.3 Tablet is used alone or in a combination with other medicines for the treatment of high blood pressure. It is not recommended for use in patients less than 18 years of age.

Hypertension
This medicine is used to reduce high blood pressure which may be caused by genetic and/or environmental factors.

When not to use?

Allergy
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known allergy to moxonidine or any other inactive ingredients present along with it.
Sick sinus syndrome
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients suffering from sick sinus syndrome due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient’s condition.
Atrioventricular Block
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients suffering from a second- or third-degree atrioventricular block due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient’s condition.
Bradycardia
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with bradycardia (heart rate < 50 beats/minute) due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient’s condition.
Malignant arrhythmias
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients suffering from malignant arrhythmias due to the increased risk of serious adverse effects.

Pregnancy
This medicine is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless necessary. All the risks and benefits should be discussed with the doctor before taking this medicine.
Breast-feeding
This medicine is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless absolutely necessary. All the risks and benefits should be discussed with the doctor before taking this medicine. Your doctor may advise you to discontinue breastfeeding or to discontinue the medicine based on your clinical condition.
General warnings
Atrioventricular Block
This medicine should be used with caution in patients with a first-degree atrioventricular block due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient’s condition. Close monitoring of heart function and vital signs, appropriate dose adjustments, or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required in some cases based on the clinical condition of the patient.
Renal impairment
This medicine should be used with caution in patients with a history of kidney diseases due to the increased risk of severe adverse effects. Regular monitoring of kidney function tests is necessary while using this medicine. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required in some cases based on the clinical condition of the patient.
Driving or Operating machinery
Use of this medicine may cause symptoms such as dizziness, drowsiness, fainting, etc. in some patients. It is advised that you do not perform any activities such as driving a vehicle or operating machinery if you experience any of these symptoms during treatment with this medicine.
Use in Pediatrics
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients less than 18 years of age since the safety and efficacy of use are not clinically established.
Cardiac insufficiency
This medicine should be used with extreme caution in patients suffering from a cardiac insufficiency due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient’s condition. Close monitoring of heart function and vital signs, appropriate dose adjustments, or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required in some cases based on the clinical condition of the patient.
Drug Withdrawal
Abrupt discontinuation of this medicine may cause rebound hypertension and side effects such as nervousness, agitation, headache, etc. in some patients. A gradual dose reduction over a period of days to up to 2 weeks may be necessary to avoid these reactions.

Dosage

Missed Dose
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed one.
Overdose
Seek emergency medical treatment or contact the doctor in case of an overdose.

General Instructions

Take this medicine with or without food, as advised by your doctor. Do not take in larger or smaller amounts than advised/prescribed. Consult the doctor if you experience any undesirable side effects. Ensure that the course of treatment is completed. Do not stop the use of this medicine without consulting your doctor; an abrupt withdrawal may result in rebound high blood pressure as well as other side effects.
