Lupigest 400 MG Tablet is obtained from plant sources and has a similar action to the female hormone, progesterone. It is used to correct menstrual disorders caused due to a deficiency of this hormone in the body. This medicine is also used for the prevention of endometrial hyperplasia (a condition where the female sex hormones are imbalanced and heavy bleeding or intermittent bleeding between periods are experienced).

What is it prescribed for?
Amenorrhoea
This medicine is used to treat the absence of menstruation in women of childbearing potential due to a lack of progesterone in their bodies.
Endometrial hyperplasia
This medicine is used to prevent endometrial hyperplasia, a condition where the female sex hormones are imbalanced and heavy bleeding or intermittent bleeding between periods is experienced.

When not to use?

Allergy
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known allergy to progesterone or any other inactive ingredients present along with the formulation. This medicine might contain peanut oil and should never be used by patients who are allergic to peanuts.
Abnormal vaginal bleeding
This medicine is not recommended for use if you have an abnormal vaginal bleeding episode that has not been diagnosed by a doctor. Report any menstrual irregularities to the doctor immediately.
Breast cancer
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with breast cancer or suspected breast cancer. Patients with a family history of breast cancer should be monitored closely during treatment with this medicine.
Miscarriage
This medicine is not recommended for use if the patient has had an incomplete miscarriage or missed abortion recently.
Heart and blood vessel disorder
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients having an active or historic instance of stroke or heart attack. It should not be used by patients having an active or historic clotting disorder.
