Medical Description

Gemfos Tablet contains Risedronate as its active ingredient. It is used in osteoporosis in women after menopause (permanent stoppage of menses) and men, in whom there is an increased risk of bone fracture. Osteoporosis is a medical condition where bones become weak and fragile. This medicine works by preventing bone removal, which makes bone stronger and less likely to break.

For the treatment of osteoporosis in women after menopause (permanent stoppage of menses) and in men, whom there is increased risk of bone fracture. Osteoporosis is a medical condition where bones become weak and fragile.

Contraindications of Gemfos 35 MG

If you are allergic to Risedronate or any of the other ingredients of Gemfos Tablet.
If you have severe kidney disease.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
If your blood calcium levels are lower than normal, a condition called hypocalcemia.

Side effects of Gemfos 35 MG

Nausea
Vomiting
Loose motions
Constipation
Acidity
Headache
Pain or cramps in the stomach
Pain in muscles or joints

Other General Warnings

Talk to your doctor if
You have pain or difficulty in swallowing.
You are unable to fully digest milk sugar (lactose).
You have difficulty sitting or standing for at least 30 minutes.
You have a jaw or tooth problem.
You are undergoing dental treatment.
You have swelling of tongue, throat or face.
You have difficulty in swallowing or breathing.
You have redness or pain in the eyes.
You have heartburn or chest pain.

Gemfos Tablet works by inhibiting the process of bone resorption which makes bones stronger and less likely to break.

Directions for Use of Gemfos 35 MG

Take this medicine without food, swallow whole with glass of plain water, 30 minutes before meal or drink (other than plain water) or as prescribed by your doctor.

Interactions of Gemfos 35 MG

Interactions with other medicines
Taking Gemfos Tablet with other medicines containing calcium, magnesium or aluminum affects the absorption of this medicine.
Inform your doctor about all other medicines, over the counter medicines and herbal preparations you are consuming before starting with Gemfos Tablet
Interactions with food items
Taking this medicine with dairy products such as milk decreases the absorption of this medicine.

Storage and disposal of Gemfos 35 MG

Store at room temperature in a cool and dry place.
Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.

Dosage of Gemfos 35 MG

Overdose
Symptoms of overdose include tingling or numbness in the face, hands or feet, muscle spasm or cramps, confusion, etc. If you have taken too much of this medicine then contact your doctor or reach out to the nearest hospital immediately.
Missed a Dose
Do not take a double dose if you have missed the dose, take the next dose as soon as you remember.
