Apraize 10mg Tablet (Apremilast 10mg)

INTRODUCTION

APRAIZE 10MG contain Apremilast which belongs to a group of medicine called phosphodiesterase 4 inhibitors. It is used to treat active psoriatic arthritis, moderate to severe chronic plaque psoriasis and Behcet’s disease (BD) in adults. Psoriatic arthritis is an inflammatory disease of the joint, that affects some people who have psoriasis which is an inflammatory disease condition of the skin. Plaque psoriasis is chararterised red, scaly, thick, itchy, painful patches on your skin and can also affect your scalp and nails. Behcet’s disease is a rare type of inflammatory disease which affect many parts of the body.

Always take APRAIZE 10MG exactly as your doctor has told you. This medicine must be taken with or without food. Try to take at the same time each day. It should be swallowed whole with water. It has no effect on the ability to drive and use machines. This medicine is not recommended for use in children and adolescents aged 17 years and under. Before taking this medicine tell your doctor if you have ever had kidney disease, heart disease, liver problems. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before taking this medicine. The most common side effects are diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, headaches, migraines or tension headaches, cold, runny nose, sinus infection, cough and back pain.

USES OF APRAIZE 10MG

• Treat active psoriatic arthritis
• Treat moderate to severe chronic plaque psoriasis
• Treat Behcet’s disease (BD)

HOW APRAIZE 10MG WORKS

APRAIZE 10MG works by reducing the activity of an enzyme in the body called ‘phosphodiesterase 4’, which is involved in the process of inflammation. By reducing the activity of this enzymes, it helps to control the inflammation thereby reduce the signs and symptoms due to this condition.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Always take APRAIZE 10MG exactly as your doctor has told you. This medicine must be taken with or without food. Try to take at the same time each day. It should be swallowed whole with water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. The recommended dose of this medicine is twice a day, (once in the morning and once in the evening).

SIDE EFFECTS OF APRAIZE 10MG

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS

Diarrhoa:

Drink lot of fluid such as water or squash, to avoid dehydration. Do not take any other medicine without talking to a doctor.

Nausea and vomiting:

Keep try taking this medicine with, or just after, a meal or snack and stick to simple meals and do not eat rich or spicy food.

Headache:

Apply hot or cold-water bag on your head. Take rest in a quiet and dark room. Drink tea or coffee.

Cough:

Drink fluids which helps thin the mucus in your throat. Suck on cough drops or hard candies.

Stomach pain:

Keep try to rest and relax. Eat and drink slowly and smaller and frequent meals. Applying a heat pad or covered hot water bottle on your stomach may also help. If still pain persists, speak to your doctor.

INTERACTIONS

Talk to your doctor if you are taking,

• Antibiotic such as rifampicin (used to treat tuberculosis)
• Phenytoin, phenobarbital, and carbamazepine (used to treat seizures or epilepsy)
• Herbal medicine such as St John’s Wort (used to treat mild anxiety and depression)
