Medical Description

Urimax DX tablet contains two medicines, namely Tamsulosin and Dutasteride. Urimax DX is used in men to treat the symptoms of Benign Prostate Hyperplasia (BPH). BPH is a condition of the enlarged prostate gland in men as they get old. Urimax DX tablet helps in easing the symptoms associated with this condition such as frequent urination, difficulty in passing urine, increased frequency of urination at night or inability to empty the bladder.

Uses of Urimax Dx Tablet 30’S

Urimax DX tablet is used for the treatment of the signs and symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men with an enlarged prostate.
Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia is a condition of an enlarged prostate gland in men that can cause difficulty in urination, frequent urination, unable to urinate completely and weak stream.

Contraindications of Urimax Dx Tablet 30’S

If you are allergic to Dutasteride, Tamsulosin or any ingredient of Urimax DX tablet.
If you are a woman of childbearing age or during pregnancy.
This medicine is not meant to be used in children.

Side effects of Urimax Dx Tablet 30’S

Ejaculation disorders such as premature ejaculation or delayed ejaculation.
Impotence, decreased libido & disturbance in sexual arousal.
Dizziness, constipation, vomiting.
Breast disorders like breast swelling & nipple pain.

Other General Warnings

Talk to your doctor if
You have any other conditions related to the kidney or urinary system, including prostate cancer.
You have a liver-related problem or disease.
You are allergic to this medicine or sulfa medicines.
You have cataract or glaucoma surgery planned.
You may experience low blood pressure, dizziness and vertigo too often upon standing from a sitting state (postural hypotension), be cautious as it can lead to unusual falls. Try getting up slowly from a lying down position to avoid falls.
This medicine may increase the risk of prostate cancer. Discuss it with your doctor.
In case you experience a painful penile erection, immediately seek medical help.
Avoid blood donation at least 6 months from the time you have taken the last dose of this medicine.

Mode of Action of Urimax Dx Tablet 30’S

How Does It Work?
Urimax DX is a combination of two medicines with different mechanisms of action to improve symptoms in patients with Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia.
Tamsulosin acts by relaxing the smooth muscles of the bladder and prostate and allows easy passage of urine.
Dutasteride helps in reducing the size of the prostate gland by decreasing the level of a hormone responsible for the enlarged prostate gland.

Directions for Use of Urimax Dx Tablet 30’S

Take Urimax DX as advised by your doctor with or without food.
The tablet should be swallowed whole. Do not crush or chew it.

Interactions of Urimax Dx Tablet 30’S

Interactions with other medicines
Urimax DX tablets should be used with caution in combination with cimetidine which is used for acidity problems.
Caution should be exercised with concomitant use of warfarin and Urimax DX tablets.
Certain antiviral medicines such as ritonavir, antifungals such as ketoconazole and antibiotics such as erythromycin may interact with this medicine. Hence, it should be used cautiously.
Blood pressure medicines or vasodilators (used to relax blood vessels), as well as medicines used to treat erection problems when used in combination with Urimax DX, can lead to low blood pressure or hypotension.
Tell your doctor about any other medicines, supplements or herbals you are taking or might take, to avoid any possible interaction.

Store in a cool, dry place.
Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
Pregnant women should not handle this medicine.

Dosage of Urimax Dx Tablet 30’S

Overdose
If you happen to take too many Urimax DX tablets, inform your doctor or reach out to the nearest hospital. Symptoms of overdose of this medicine include low blood pressure.
Missed a Dose
If you missed any dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to the regular schedule. Do not take a double dose to compensate for the missed dose.
