Supermet Xl 25 MG Tablet XL helps in preventing heart attack (a blockage of blood flow to the heart muscle) and stroke (damage to the brain from interruption of its blood supply). Supermet Xl 25 MG Tablet XL works by reducing the rate and force of the contractions of your heart. Thus it decreases high blood pressure.
Supermet Xl 25 MG Tablet XL may cause side effects like headache, breathing difficulty, low blood pressure, etc. Consult your doctor if these symptoms persist for a longer time. This medicine may also cause dizziness or drowsiness. Avoid driving vehicles or operating machines after taking this medicine. Do not take Supermet Xl 25 MG Tablet XL if you are allergic to it.
Supermet Xl 25 MG Tablet XL should be taken with food or immediately after food. For the ease of remembering, take this medicine around the same time every day. Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor.

Angina Pectoris
Angina pectoris is chest pain or discomfort due to reduced blood flow to your heart. It occurs when the blood vessels are narrowed or blocked. Supermet Xl 25 MG Tablet XL causes blood vessels to relax resulting in an improved blood flow to your heart and treats Angina.
Cardiac arrhythmias
Cardiac arrhythmia is a condition where your heartbeats are irregular. Supermet Xl 25 MG Tablet XL slows down the activity of your heart allowing your heart to beat slower and less forcefully. Therefore it is used to treat heart rhythm problems.

Allergy
Avoid taking Supermet Xl 25 MG Tablet XL if you are allergic to it. Seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms of allergic reactions such as skin rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, breathing difficulty, etc.
Second or third-degree heart block
Heart block is a condition that occurs when the signals that control your heart are slowed down. Heart block is of three stages named as first, second, or third-degree. Dosage

Supermet Xl 25 MG Tablet XL can mask the symptoms of low blood sugar if you have diabetes. Your doctor may suggest tests to monitor your blood sugar levels while on treatment with this medicine.
Liver disease
Supermet Xl 25 MG Tablet XL should be used with extreme caution if you have a liver problem. This medicine breaks down in your liver and is excreted through urine. Using this medicine while you have pre-existing liver troubles can further worsen your condition.
Glaucoma
Glaucoma or high eye pressure occurs when the nerve connecting the eye to the brain is damaged. Take Supermet Xl 25 MG Tablet XL with caution if you have such a condition as it may increase the risk of mydriasis (a condition in which the pupil of the eye gets widened due to increased eye pressure).
Hyperlipidaemia
