Description

Suminat 25 mg Tablet is a medicine used in the treatment of migraines. It works by contracting the blood vessels in the brain and also inhibiting the action of chemical substances that cause headaches and sensitivity to sound and light. It can only help manage the symptoms of migraines and cannot help in preventing or reducing the frequency of migraine attacks.

Suminat 25 mg Tablet may cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, weakness, tingling and numbness of feet and hands, and flushing (sense of warmth in the face, ears, neck, and trunk). Consult your doctor if these symptoms persist or become severe. Avoid activities that require high mental alertness like driving vehicles and operating machines as it may cause dizziness or drowsiness. Avoid taking this medicine if you are allergic to it.

Suminat 25 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food. Your doctor will determine the dose and duration of treatment based on your clinical condition. When not to use?

Allergy

Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI)
Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) are a class of medicines used in the treatment of depression. Combined use of Suminat 25 mg Tablet and MAOIs is not recommended as it may increase the risk of serious side effects. This medicine should not be used for at least two weeks after the discontinuation of MAOIs.
Hemiplegic or Basilar Migraine
Hemiplegic or basilar migraine is a severe headache that starts at the spine or the lower part of the brain called the brainstem. Suminat 25 mg Tablet is not recommended for use if you have hemiplegic or basilar migraines.
Cerebrovascular Disease
Cerebrovascular disease refers to a group of conditions that affect the blood vessels and blood supply to the brain. Suminat 25 mg Tablet is not recommended for use if you have cerebrovascular diseases as it may further worsen your condition.

Dosage

Missed Dose
Suminat 25 mg Tablet is generally used when required. If you are on a scheduled dosing regimen of this medicine, take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed one.
Overdose
Never take more than the prescribed dose. Contact your doctor in case of an overdose of Suminat 25 mg Tablet.
