Sulpitac 50 Tablet
Sulpitac 50 MG Tablet is an antipsychotic medicine used for the treatment of schizophrenia (a mental condition that is characterised by disturbed thinking, emotions, perception of reality, sense of self, and behaviour) in adults. It works by altering the action of a chemical substance called dopamine in the brain.
Sulpitac 50 MG Tablet may cause some side effects like dizziness, drowsiness, restlessness, nervousness, dry mouth, constipation, trouble sleeping, weight gain, etc. Consult your doctor if these side effects bother you for a long time or become severe.
Sulpitac 50 MG Tablet can be taken with or without food. Your doctor will determine the dose and duration of treatment based on your clinical condition. Take it every day at the same time for the ease of remembering. Avoid taking more than the prescribed dose as it may lead to side effects.
Sulpitac 50 MG Tablet is not recommended for use if you are allergic to it. When not to use?
Allergy
Avoid taking Sulpitac 50 MG Tablet if you are allergic to it. Seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms such as skin rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, breathing difficulty, etc.
Phaeochromocytoma
Phaeochromocytoma is a rare tumour of the adrenal glands (a small gland located on top of your kidney that is responsible for producing chemical substances known as hormones). It is often associated with symptoms such as high blood pressure, increased heartbeat, sweating, headache, etc. Avoid taking Sulpitac 50 MG Tablet if you have pheochromocytoma as it may result in a hypertensive crisis (a severe increase in blood pressure with a high risk of other complications that may be life-threatening).
Prolactin dependent tumour
Prolactin-dependent tumour is a tumour that develops due to an excess of prolactin hormone in the body. Women with higher blood levels of prolactin have a higher risk of breast cancer. Also, prolactinoma is a tumour of the pituitary gland (a gland at the base of the brain) that produces an excessive amount of the hormone prolactin. Sulpitac 50 MG Tablet is not recommended for use if you have prolactinoma or breast cancer as it may further worsen your condition.
Levodopa
Levodopa is a medicine used in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease (a brain disorder that affects movement with symptoms such as tremors, shakiness, stiffness, difficulty in walking, impaired balance and coordination, etc.). Combined use of Sulpitac 50 MG Tablet and Levodopa is not recommended as the effects of these medicines are exactly the opposite. Thus it will reduce the effectiveness of both medications and also increase the risk of undesired effects.

Hypokalaemia
