Description

Optidew Eye Drops is a combination of Hyaluronic acid and D-panthenol. It is used in the treatment of dry eyes (an eye condition that occurs when the eyes do not produce enough tears or when the tears evaporate too quickly). This medicine provides relief from symptoms such as burning, itching, irritation or discomfort in your eyes by lubricating your eyes.

Optidew Eye Drops may cause side effects such as eye pain, irritation and vision disturbances. These symptoms usually subside on their own. However, consult your doctor if these symptoms stay for a long time or if they become severe. Avoid driving vehicles or operating machines if you experience these symptoms.

Optidew Eye Drops can be used when needed or as prescribed by your doctor. Consult your doctor if you use contact lenses. Inform your doctor if you develop an eye infection while using this medicine.

Optidew Eye Drops is not recommended for use if you are allergic to it. Inform your doctor if you are using any other eye drops to avoid undesired effects. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before using this medicine.

Dry eye is a common condition that occurs when your tears are not able to provide adequate lubrication for your eyes. Optidew Eye Drops is used to treat and prevent dryness of your eyes.

When not to use?

Allergy
Optidew Eye Drops is not recommended if you are allergic to it. Seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms such as skin rash, itching/swelling (especially of your face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, breathing difficulty, etc.

Warnings

Warnings for special population
Pregnancy
Optidew Eye Drops is not recommended for use in pregnancy as not enough studies are done to understand its safety and efficacy. Consult your doctor before using this medicine.
Breast-feeding
It is not known whether Optidew Eye Drops passes into breast milk or if it could affect your infant. Inform your doctor if you are breastfeeding before using this medicine.

General warnings

External use only

Blurring of vision
Optidew Eye Drops can cause temporary blurring of vision and hence you should refrain from driving vehicles or operating machines immediately after using this medicine.
Avoid contamination
When instilling Optidew Eye Drops, it is recommended not to touch the tip of the container to any surface, as it can contaminate the medicine.

Dosage

Missed Dose
Apply the missed dose of Optidew Eye Drops as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed one.
Overdose
Seek emergency medical treatment in case of an overdose of Optidew Eye Drops.

Interactions

General Instructions
Use Optidew Eye Drops exactly as advised by your doctor. Do not use in larger or smaller amounts than prescribed. Follow all the instructions given on the label/package insert.

Wash your hands properly before using the eye drops. Do not touch the tip of the bottle in order to avoid contamination of the medicine.

Pull down your lower eyelid and squeeze a few drops of this medicine into the eyelid pocket. Maintain a time gap of at least 5 minutes between applying this medicine and any other eye medicine.

If you wear contact lenses, you are recommended to remove them before using this medicine. You can wear the lenses 15 minutes after application.

Consult your doctor if your symptoms do not improve after a few doses.
