Contraindications of Ondero Met 2.5mg/500mg

If you are allergic to linagliptin and metformin or any other ingredient of this medicine. It should not be used by a patient with type 1 diabetes mellitus. It is not suitable for a patient undergoing the treatment of diabetic ketoacidosis. It should be used with caution as age increases. If you have any kind of pre-existing medical condition such as kidney or liver impairment, pancreas disorder, etc.

Mode of Action of Ondero Met 2.5mg/500mg

How Does It Work?
Ondero Met tablet works by the combined action of both the active ingredients. Metformin works by lowering down the production of glucose in the liver, delaying glucose absorption in the intestine and increasing insulin sensitivity.
Linagliptin works by increasing the production of insulin from the pancreas and lowering down the hormones that raise the blood sugar levels. Thus, reducing both post-meal and fasting blood sugar levels which helps in maintaining the blood sugar levels.

Directions for Use of Ondero Met 2.5mg/500mg

It must be taken as directed by the doctor, swallow it as a whole with a glass of water.
It must be taken with or after having a meal. It would be best if you take it at the same time every day for optimal results.

Avoid using expired or damaged medicines.

Dosage of Ondero Met 2.5mg/500mg

Overdose
Symptoms of overdose may lead to lactic acidosis (symptoms include stomach discomfort, decreased appetite, diarrhoea, fast or shallow breathing, weakness, etc.). If you think you have taken too much of this medicine, seek medical care immediately.
Missed a Dose
If you have missed taking a dose of the Ondero Met tablet, take it as soon as you remember. If it’s time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with the regular dose schedule. Avoid taking a double dose to compensate for the missed one.
