Myostigmin 0.5 Injection is used for Myasthenia gravis, Paralysis of the intestinal muscles, Postoperative urinary retention, Tachycardia and other conditions. Myostigmin 0.5 Injection may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Myostigmin 0.5 Injection contains Neostigmine as an active ingredient.

Myostigmin 0.5 Injection works by improving the transmission of nerve impulses in muscles so that the muscles are able to work better.

Myostigmin 0.5 Injection is used for the treatment, control, prevention, & improvement of the following diseases, conditions and symptoms:

Myasthenia gravis

Paralysis of the intestinal muscles

Postoperative urinary retention

Tachycardia

The following is a list of possible side-effects that may occur from all constituting ingredients of Myostigmin 0.5 Injection. This is not a comprehensive list. Drowsiness

Mild nausea

Extreme muscle weakness

Slurred speech

Vomiting

Warmth or tingly feeling

Mild rash or itching

Severe stomach cramps or diarrhoea

Trouble breathing

Worsening or no improvement in symptoms of abnormal weakness of certain muscles

Gas

Urinating more than usual

Cold sweat

Cough

Fast or slow heart rate

Seizure

Salivation

Copious tracheobronchial secretions

Excessive constriction of the pupil of the eye

Blurring of vision

Breathlessness

Do not use in patients having bronchial asthma and cardiac disease

Not recommended in patients having parkinsonism and vagotonia

When not to use Myostigmin 0.5 Injection

Hypersensitivity to Myostigmin 0.5 Injection is a contraindication. In addition, Myostigmin 0.5 Injection should not be used if you have the following conditions:

Mechanical gastrointestinal and urinary tract obstruction

Peritonitis
