Moxon 0.3 Tablet (Moxonidine 0.3mg)

INTRODUCTION

MOXON 0.3MG contain Moxonidine which belongs to a group of medicine called anti-hypertensives. It is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Hypertension is a condition in which the force of the blood against the artery wall is high. It is important to have your blood pressure checked regularly.

During the treatment with this medicine it is also necessary to have a healthy diet, regular workouts, cessation of smoking and weight reduction to make the treatment very effective. You can take normal diet while taking this medicine and try to reduce your salt intake. Do not drive or operate machinery while taking this medicine, since it may cause sleepiness or dizziness. It is not recommended for use in children and adolescents under 18 years. Before taking this medicine tell your doctor if you have ever had kidney disease, heart disease, liver problems. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before taking this medicine.

HOW MOXON 0.3MG WORKS

MOXON 0.3MG works by relaxing blood vessels which makes the heart more efficient at pumping blood around the body. This helps to lower your blood pressure.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Always take MOXON 0.3MG exactly as your doctor has told you. This medicine must be taken with or without food. Try to take this medicine at the same time each day. It should be swallowed whole with water. Do not crush or chew the medicine.

Swelling of the face, lip, or mouth (angioedema)

Dry mouth
Back pain
Headache
Weakness, dizziness
Rash or itching
Difficulty sleeping
Feeling sleepy

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS

Dizziness:

Get up and move around to feel awake, take small naps to edge off the sleepiness. Give your eyes a break to avoid fatigue and eat a healthy food to boost energy.

Nausea and vomiting:

Keep try taking this medicine with, or just after, a meal or snack and stick to simple meals and do not eat rich or spicy food.

Diarrhoea:

Drink lot of fluid such as water or squash, to avoid dehydration. Do not take any other medicine without talking to a doctor.

Headache:

Apply hot or cold-water bag on your head. Take rest in a quiet and dark room. Drink tea or coffee.

Dry mouth:

Chew sugar-free gum or suck sugar-free hard candies. Control caffeine intake. Do not use mouthwashes. Sip water regularly.

PREGNANCY
MOXON 0.3MG is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless necessary. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.

BREASTFEEDING
MOXON 0.3MG is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless necessary. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.

DRIVING AND USING MACHINES
Do not drive or operate machinery while taking this medicine, since it may cause sleepiness or dizziness.

ALCOHOL
Consumption of alcohol is not recommended during treatment with MOXON 0.3MG.

KIDNEY
MOXON 0.3MG is not recommended in patients with active kidney diseases. Before taking this medicine consult your doctor.

LIVER
MOXON 0.3MG should be used with caution in patients suffering from liver function impairment or active liver diseases. Consult your doctor for advice.

ALLERGY
Do not take MOXON 0.3MG if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to moxonidine or any other ingredients in this medicine.

HEART DISEASE
MOXON 0.3MG is not recommended in patients with active heart diseases. Before taking this medicine consult your doctor.

INTERACTIONS

Talk to your doctor if you are taking,

Medicines such as imipramine or amitriptyline (used to treat depression)
Tranquilizers, sedatives or sleeping medicine such as benzodiazepines
Beta-blockers (used to treat high blood pressure)
