Misoprost 200mcg tablet is used for medical abortion of fetus (termination of pregnancy) and to prevent excessive bleeding after pregnancy. Misoprostol is a prodrug. It converts into misoprostol aci
in the stomach. The mode of action of Misoprost 200 mcg tablets is by increasing contractions in the uterus. Directions for use of Misoprost 200mcg tablets should be strictly followed. This medicine is to be taken orally with food. It usually takes about a day to show its effect, after which the bleeding begins. In case of vomiting within 30 minutes of taking Misoprost tablet, the treating doctor must be informed.
