Medical Description

Martifur tablet is an antibiotic medicine. It is used for the treatment of urinary tract infections caused mainly due to bacterial organisms. Urinary tract infection is a common infection that happens when microbes enter the urethra. It is characterised by a burning sensation or pain while urinating. Martifur tablet consists of nitrofurantoin as its active ingredient. It has a bactericidal action and works by inhibiting vital biochemical processes of the growth of bacteria, thus resulting in killing the infection-causing organisms. Take Martifur tablets as suggested by your doctor for the prescribed duration. While taking this medicine, you should drink plenty of water or other fluids to stay hydrated and practise good personal hygiene. If you skip the dose or do not complete the course, it may cause resistance and decrease the effectiveness of immediate treatment.

This medicine should not be used in children

Dosage of Martifur 100 MG

Overdose
Overdose of Martifur tablet may cause nausea, vomiting and gastric irritation. Contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital in case of an overdose.
Missed a Dose
If you missed any dose of Martifur tablet, take it as soon as you remember it. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dose schedule. Do not take a double dose of medicine to compensate for the missed one.
