LIPIKIND-CV 20 CAPSULES 10’S is a combination drug composed of a blood-thinning agent and cholesterol-lowering agent primarily used to prevent heart attack and stroke in the future. It lowers the raised level of cholesterol and fats (triglycerides) in our body. A heart attack occurs when your coronary arteries (blood vessel supplying blood and oxygen to the heart) becomes blocked due to build-up of fats (plaque) including cholesterol. These plaques narrow the arteries, leading to atherosclerosis and coronary artery disease, mainly for most heart attacks.

LIPIKIND-CV 20 CAPSULES 10’S is composed of two medicines, namely: Atorvastatin and Clopidogrel. Atorvastatin is a lipid-lowering medication which blocks the enzyme required to make cholesterol in the body. As a result, it lowers the bad cholesterol (low-density lipoproteins or LDL), triglycerides (TG) and increases the levels of good cholesterol (high-density lipoproteins or HDL). Clopidogrel is a blood thinner (anticoagulant) that collectively prevents a clot in the blood vessels. Together LIPIKIND-CV 20 CAPSULES 10’S reduces the increased levels of bad cholesterol (low-density lipoprotein and triglycerides) and prevents blood clot, thereby reducing the risk of heart attack, stroke and heart-related chest pain (angina).

You can take LIPIKIND-CV 20 CAPSULES 10’S with food or without food. It should be swallowed whole with a glass of water. Do not chew, bite, or break it. Your doctor will advise you how often you take your tablets based on your medical condition. You may experience headaches, ankle swelling (oedema), slow heart rate, and nausea in some cases. LIPIKIND-CV 20 CAPSULES 10’S is known to cause dizziness, so driving should be avoided. Most of these side effects of LIPIKIND-CV 20 CAPSULES 10’S do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

Try not to stop taking LIPIKIND-CV 20 CAPSULES 10’S of your own. Suddenly stopping LIPIKIND-CV 20 CAPSULES 10’S may worsen your condition and increase your risk of a future heart attack. Let your doctor know if are sensitive to atorvastatin, clopidogrel or have any active liver disease (liver enzymes abnormalities), active bleeding issues (like peptic ulcer, brain haemorrhage), or muscle problem (myopathy, rhabdomyolysis). The patient should inform the doctor that they are taking LIPIKIND-CV 20 CAPSULES 10’S before any surgery is scheduled or any new medicine is taken. Atorvastatin present in LIPIKIND-CV 20 CAPSULES 10’S is a pregnancy category X drug, so it should not be given to pregnant women. It may cause harm to the foetus if administered to pregnant or breastfeeding women.

Hyperlipidemia (Increased cholesterol), Prevention of heart attack, Prevention of stroke

LIPIKIND-CV 20 CAPSULES 10’S should not be used unless prescribed by a doctor. Always take LIPIKIND-CV 20 CAPSULES 10’S exactly as your doctor told you. Your doctor will advise you how often you take your tablets on the basis of your medical condition. Swallow LIPIKIND-CV 20 CAPSULES 10’S with a full glass of water. Do not crush or chew before swallowing.

Store in a cool and dry place away from sunlight

Like other medicines, LIPIKIND-CV 20 CAPSULES 10’S to have some side effects. However, these side effects are temporary and resolve after some times. The most common side effects of LIPIKIND-CV 20 CAPSULES 10’S are bleeding (stomach bleeding, gastrointestinal bleeding, nose bleeding), rash, diarrhoea, stomach ulcer, muscle disease (like myopathy, rhabdomyolysis), and abdominal pain. In rare cases, it can cause bruising (an injury transmitted through unbroken skin to underlying tissue causing rupture of small blood vessels and escape of blood into the tissue with resulting discolouration). It is not necessary for everyone to experience the above side effects. In case of any discomfort, speak with your doctor. If you have any signs of blood clot problems like angina (chest pain), difficulty in breathing, sudden loss of vision, or pain/redness/swelling in an extremity, immediately consult your doctor.
