Description

Intimacy Plus 2 Tablet is a combination medicine used for oral contraception (prevention of pregnancy). It contains Desogestrel and Ethinyl estradiol. It works by preventing the fertilization of the egg.

Intimacy Plus 2 Tablet may cause some side effects like nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, weight gain, irregular or missed periods, slight bleeding between periods, breast enlargement, changes in mood, hair loss, etc. Most of these side effects subside with time as your body gets used to the medication. Consult your doctor if these undesired effects persist for a long time or worsen. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience symptoms like blurred vision, chest pain, unexplained swelling in the arms or legs, severe headaches, rashes, hives, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, difficulty breathing, etc.

Intimacy Plus 2 Tablet should be taken every day for 21 days starting from the first day of your menstrual cycle (first day of bleeding). Then there is a gap of seven days after which, the administration should be continued again. Take this medicine at the same time every day to ensure compliance (making sure you do not miss a dose).

Intimacy Plus 2 Tablet is not recommended for use if you are pregnant, trying to get pregnant, or are breastfeeding. It is also not prescribed to women who have thromboembolic (blood clotting) disorders, cardiovascular or cerebrovascular disorder (conditions related to the heart, brain and blood vessels that are connected to them), liver disorders or tumours, oestrogen-dependent tumours, and undiagnosed vaginal bleeding. Inform your doctor of any medical issues you may have before taking this medicine.

Intimacy Plus 2 Tablet is not recommended for use in women younger than 18 years of age since the safety and efficacy are not clinically established. Avoid smoking, consumption of alcohol, caffeine, and grapefruit juice while taking this medicine. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to Desogestrel, Ethinyl estradiol, or other Oestrogen products.

When not to use?

Allergic reaction
Intimacy Plus 2 Tablet is not recommended for use in people with a known allergy to Desogestrel, ethinyl estradiol, oestrogen products, or any other inactive ingredients present along with these medicines. Undiagnosed vaginal bleeding
Intimacy Plus 2 Tablet is not recommended for use if you experience episodes of abnormal bleeding from the vagina, as this medicine may worsen your condition.
Cardiovascular Disease
Intimacy Plus 2 Tablet is not recommended for use if you have any heart or blood vessels disorders such as Deep Vein Thrombosis (also known as DVT, occurs when a blood clot forms in a deep vein, usually in the legs), recent heart attack, other blood clotting disorders, etc. Taking this medicine may worsen your condition.
Estrogen-dependent tumor
Intimacy Plus 2 Tablet is not recommended for use if you have cancer that is attributed to abnormal levels of the hormone oestrogen in your body.
Liver disease
Intimacy Plus 2 Tablet is not recommended for use if you have a history of liver function impairment due to the increased risk of worsening of your condition.
Thromboembolic disorders
Intimacy Plus 2 Tablet is not recommended for use if you have an active venous thromboembolic disorder (also known as VTE, or blood clots in your veins), or arterial thromboembolic disorder (also known as ATE, or blood clots in your arteries). This medicine may worsen your condition.
Cerebrovascular disorders
Intimacy Plus 2 Tablet is not recommended for use if you have or had any cerebrovascular disorders (conditions that affect blood flow and the blood vessels in the brain) such as stroke (caused by decreased blood supply to the brain), haemorrhage (rupture of a blood vessel), thrombosis (blood clot formation), or stenosis (narrowing of blood vessels in the brain), as this medicine may worsen your condition.
Pregnancy
Intimacy Plus 2 Tablet is unsafe for use in pregnancy as it may cause damage to your baby. Hence this medicine is not recommended for use if you are pregnant or suspect pregnancy.

Make sure to use alternative methods of contraception like condoms when engaging in sexual activity with multiple partners as Intimacy Plus 2 Tablet does not protect from sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
